Generations For Peace is a leading global non-profit peace-building organisation with its headquarters in Amman, Jordan.

We are dedicated to sustainable conflict transformation at the grass roots in communities, by promoting youth leadership, community empowerment, active tolerance, and responsible citizenship.  We are a volunteer movement, empowering, mentoring and supporting volunteers to be change-makers to create a better future in their own communities.

Youth RESOLVE: Resilience, Education, Social Cohesion, Opportunities for Livelihoods and reduced Violence in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Iraq (Madad)

The programme objective in Lebanon is to mobilise and train youth to facilitate peace-building activities, and to implement initiatives that benefit their local communities, to improve relations between host and refugee communities in the targeted areas.

Specific programme objectives:

  • Mobilise and train youth to implement initiatives that benefit their local communities with a focus on promoting peace-building and positive interaction within their community in Lebanon: The purpose of this activity is to build the capacity of youth living across North Lebanon, and Mt. Lebanon and South Lebanon to promote peace and positive interactions, and engage in projects beneficial for the entire community.
  • Facilitate peace-building activities to improve relations between host and refugee communities in targeted areas

The services are requested to achieve the following objectives:

  • To work with 120 youth together over seven months in four groups (one for each form of art plays, comic books, songs, and documentary films)
  • To develop final products depicting community social cohesion stories in the form of plays, comic books, songs, and documentary films
  • All art products developed by these groups will be jointly showcased at five community events per year (three in South Lebanon, one in North Lebanon, one in Mount Lebanon).
  • The participants will also work together with professional artists to plan and promote a large “closing ceremony” event in Beirut to showcase the youth’s artwork and to share their stories.

Duties and responsibilities                        

Therefore, Generations For Peace needs a company to provide all off the following:

  • One Drama trainer to deliver a six-day training in June 2018 to 120 youth on Theatre and Drama.
  • One drawing/Cartoonist trainer to deliver a six-day training in June 2018 to 120 youth on how to design and produce a Comic Book.
  • One Music trainer to deliver a six-day training in June 2018 to 120 youth on Singing.
  • One Film Maker trainer to deliver a six-day training in June 2018 to 120 youth on how to produce a documentary film.
  • Each of the above trainers work with the total of 35 youth over seven months/ one session every month to prepare for the community events and final events.

All art products need to advocate for social cohesion between Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian youth.
