Under The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs  ‘Addressing Root Causes’ (ARC) fund, four members of Alliance 2015(ACTED, Concern, Hivos and Chesvi) have secured the funds to implement range of livelihoods related training activities and have developed a project in close collaboration with MoSA and Social Development Centers’ across Lebanon.This project aims to address the root causes of conflict and migration, as well as, empower both Lebanese and Syrians through promoting skill development opportunities to increase their livelihood capabilities by strengthening the sectors of Construction, agriculture and Green Jobs.

This call is specifically for the trainers with previous experience of conducting construction related trainings on architect, concepts of green buildings, general maintenance, plumbing and/or construction labour management. Individuals with hands on training experience and experience of managing labour with reputable construction company or NGO implementing “work for cash” or similar nature projects are highly encouraged to apply. Who can apply?

  • An individual with minimum 14 years of education in civil, architect or construction related disciplines with 3 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching or facilitation experience in construction skills like plumbing, electrical works, maintenance and rehabilitation of old building, green buildings, general maintenance supported with 2 years of concrete experience in private construction company and/or 3 years’ experience with NGO implementing “Cash for Work” or similar nature projects. 
  • A minimum of 1 year experience of on-site labour training, managmente and supervisory role for construction work on the site.
  • An individual with excellent communication and writing skill in Arabic with working English language skill.
  • An individual who is self-motivated and has ability to adopt and manage his/her own work.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Selected individuals will be expected to train and manage two construction trainers.
  2. Implement trainings in 5 SDCs.
  3. Locate and organize appropriate training spaces for practical workshops
  4. Prepare Procurement lists for trainings and organize trainings
  5. Administrative responsibilities and program tasks as identified by Livelihoods program manager and Senior Engineer – Livelihoods.
