Consultancy for translation of PSS manuals

REF: CWL/PRT/0818/2699

1. Background

Concern Worldwide works on the Syria response in Syria, Turkey, and Lebanon, and with Iraqi IDPs in Iraq. Six years into the Syrian conflict, poverty levels are high among Syrian refuges and the long-term resilience of vulnerable communities is eroding as they run out of savings and struggle to access income. Syrian refugees risk exposure to harmful coping mechanisms and other threats including forced/early marriage, child labour, economic exploitation and involvement in armed groups and militancy, as well as domestic violence and sexual exploitation. Syrian men and boys continue to report experiencing stress due to the impact of the conflict, and their feelings of powerlessness because of their inability to fulfil their traditional role as family providers and protectors.

PSS Programmes

Part of Concern’s programming in the region is focused on engaging men, women and children, through PSS work and Child Friendly Spaces, to discuss protection issues and provide support in different ways through programmes in Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and Syria using a specific manuals built previously by an external consultant .
