Position: Livelihood Field Coordinator  

Duty station: Beirut – Lebanon, with frequent travel to Saida and the Chouf

Duration 12 months (2 months probation period)

Cesvi in Lebanon

 

Cesvi is working in Lebanon since 2001 in different areas: North Lebanon (Tripoli, Halba); South Lebanon (Sidon); Mount Lebanon (Chouf); Nabatîyé (Nabatîyé); Beqaa (Zahlé); and Beirut (Beirut). Cesvi projects are funded by institutional donors and private foundations, and operate in the sectors of livelihood, food security, and emergency assistance. Protection is a strong crosscutting component in all projects.

Currently Cesvi is working in the Livelihood, Food Security and sector in Mount Lebanon and South Lebanon, through CfW activities, vocational training and support to the private sector.

Cesvi projects are funded by institutional donors and private foundations, and operate in the sectors of livelihood, food security, and emergency assistance.

Projects

The projects aim to create livelihood opportunities in a conflict-sensitive manner, leading to more jobs, income and resilient communities supporting the SDCs, MSMEs and organizing TVET and to increase the livelihoods of vulnerable people through cash-for-work activities

 

Job purpose:

The Livelihood Field Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, consolidating, and ensuring smooth implementation of programs and operations’ activities, in adherence to logistics, human resource, administration, and security procedures.

At the municipal and governorate level, the Field Coordinator represents Cesvi to relevant stakeholders. The Livelihood Field Coordinator provides general support in his/her field of expertise and serves as focal point during program planning and reporting of the indicated project.

The Field Coordinator reports directly to the Livelihood Program Manager in collaboration with the CfW Project Manager

 

 

Duties/responsibilities:

Main tasks:

  • Plan, monitor and report on skills training and livelihood support project components (Market Based Skills Training; Apprenticeships; Business support) in close coordination with Livelihood Program Manager across projects’ sites;
  • Ensure technical guidance and coordinate timely operation of livelihood-related activities;
  • Support the logistics and ensure the daily follow up on project’s activities on the field;
  • Ensure the effective use of the available resources for livelihood-related  activities;
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with local authorities, local partners and target groups and represent Cesvi and the projects before the partners and other stakeholders when required;
  • Engage in the beneficiary selection process in collaboration with the local partners and under the guidance of the line manager and the CfW Project Manager
  • Ensure follow up with project partners, monitoring of attendance and performance to ensure that activities are delivered according to the project’s objectives and in compliance with Cesvi and donor’s regulations;
  • Participate in coordination meetings when required and prepare minutes of meetings;
  • Make field arrangements for planned visits to projects locations;
  • Conduct needs assessment and analysis and enter data on databases;
  • Inform on and document the anomalies and the challenges carried out during the implementation phase of the program;
  • Regularly travel to field sites and centres to ensure activities are on-track;
  • Oversee training centres and/or training providers' daily activities in accordance with agreed work plans;
  • Assist in developing and conducting baseline and end line surveys for beneficiaries.
  • Identify and provide inputs on opportunities and constraints to expand livelihoods activities;
  • Participate in any activities, trainings and other relevant duties as assigned by the line manager and CfW project manager.

 

  • Required Competencies

At least 2 years previous field experience in a humanitarian or development NGO in the livelihoods sector

Experience working with employability promotion programmes, labor market studies and business development;

Experience in the organization of Technical and Vocational Education and Training;

Experience in cash-for-work activities

Preferable experience working in Green Building/energy efficiency projects;

Excellent analytical skills, with proven ability to create and utilize qualitative and quantitative analyses in organizational planning;

Strong report writing and communication skills

Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members;

Degree in Social Sciences, Business development or other relevant field;

Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility;

Excellent IT skills (MS Office);

Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment;

Ability to work under pressure;

Strong humanitarian commitment and ethical values;

Must have a valid driver's license and Lebanese nationality;
