OBJECTIVE:

The Program Development Specialist works to identify new funding opportunities and leads the process of planning, organizing, and coordinating with concerned departments to draft and submit proposals and to expand Caritas programs and activities

DUTIES:

  • Design and implement a strategy to identify and secure suitable sources of funding and resources to support Caritas evolving work including:
  • Identify and proactively pursue grant and fundraising opportunities
  •  Lead the preparation of grant applications, concept notes and proposals
  • Contribute to management decisions in selection of programs
  • Build a solid donor base representing the local and international community with a view to expanding Caritas services
  • Establish formal and informal networks with government and non-government partners
  • Build strategic and lasting partnerships with donors and private sector partners
  • Oversee organizational compliance with statutory regulations, contractual obligations and donor administrative requirements prior to project implementation and in coordination with concerned departments
  • Participate in financial forecasting at the program level to determine necessary funding and resource requirements
  •  Guide management on contract negotiations, grant cash-flow requirements, cost recovery requirements and potential funding gaps in close collaboration with the Finance Manager
  • Coordinate with concerned departments to ensure availability of capacities and resources for proper project execution
  • Compile, review and analyze assessment report, after project completion, on failures and successes underlined during execution, that will serve as learning lessons for future project proposal development
  • Compile studies on various programmatic sectors, prepared by external entities, that will be used as a base for project proposal development
