The Psychologist will provide psychological support to students through individual counseling and/or group therapies
DUTIES
Provide diagnostic services in the area of intelligence, personality, sensory motor, achievement, and adaptive behavior to students with suspected exceptional educational needs.
Administer and interpret a variety of psychological tests and assessment instruments
Provide direct individual and group counseling services to students who are experiencing academic, social, emotional or behavioral adjustment problems.
Monitor student progress
Monitor and effectively communicate with parents about student progress and help families understand their child's learning and mental health needs
Demonstrate expertise in collecting, managing, and interpreting various types of individual and group data
Promote problem solving, anger management and conflict resolution
Reinforce positive coping skills and resilience
Promote positive peer relationships and social problem solving
Make referrals to special education if needed
Identify at risk students and school vulnerabilities
Consult and confer with teachers, staff, and families about strategies to facilitate the social and affective adjustment of students.
Refer internally and externally as needed, respecting confidentiality and the right of the beneficiary
Conduct psychosocial activities
Conduct awareness sessions with beneficiaries
Work directly with the social worker to develop intervention plans and follow up at the home level
Address needs and requests in a professional way
Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others
Always respect a refusal of treatment

An evidence-based approach to psychological interventions (for example: cognitive behavior therapy)

ACADEMIC EDUCATION
Master's degree in Psychology
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
2 to 3 years of experience
Experience in the field of psychology and vulnerability/disability
