1. Purpose 

CARE is a leading relief and development non-governmental organization fighting global poverty. Established in 1946, it is now a confederation composed of 14 members and 4 affiliates. While CARE is a large international organization with more than 11,000 employees worldwide, we have a strong local presence: 95% of our staff are nationals of the countries where our programs are run.

CIL is currently looking for IT & Admin volunteer to provide support in IT duties, Admin request such as payment request, purchase request. The volunteer will diligently solve desktop issues and assist with the IT needs for CIL staff. The volunteer will help resolving CIL helpdesk tickets and assist with general IT needs of the staff.

2. Reporting Lines 

The IT and Admin volunteer will be reporting to the HR and Admin Officer with doting lines to IT officer 

3. Specific Duties and Responsibilities 

IT Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide the needed support on all IT related issues, including installation and testing of laptops, printers, client software, upgrades, and configuration
  • Support the IT Officer in the deployment and implementation of CIL systems
  • Perform regular monitoring of CIL data backups to ensure proper functioning
  • Identify and solve possible problems in the network and internet connectivity with the support of IT officer
  • Assist the IT Officer in maintaining and monitoring of firewall rules
  • Regular checkup on CIL distribution lists

Admin Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in preparing payment requests and purchase requests for Tripoli Office including but not limited to office supplies, office stationery, emergency supplies 
  • Issue procurement requests for office maintenance and replenishment of office supplies and stationery
  • Maintain timely accommodation of staff and prepare payment request for accommodation
  • Assist with translation of documents from Arabic to English and vice versa
  • Assist in admin work such as petty cash request forms, and other tasks required by line manager
  • Collect and review timesheets from Tripoli Office and send them on timely manner to Beirut Office
  • Assist the area manager in checking the whereabouts of staff and report accordingly to Admin Team

4. Qualifications / special skills or knowledge

a. Skills & knowledge:

Knowledge in Windows troubleshooting basics

Knowledge in solving first level networking issues

Knowledge in Firewall rules and configuration basics

Knowledge in Data Backup and Restore systems

b. Experience: 

0 to 1 year experience in IT Technical and Admin support

c. Academic background:

Bachelor Degree in one or several of the following areas: Computer sciences, Computer engineering, or related field is an asset

  1. Languages: English and/ or Arabic are the working language of CARE International.
  1. of other languages is an asset.
