Project Description

BADAEL is a project funded by MADAD/EU and carried out by Oxfam, UTOPIA, Association Najdeh and Beyond Reform and Development. BADAEL aims at supporting entrepreneurial initiatives with a social impact to better the socio-economic situation in 7 different areas in Lebanon: Tripoli, Nahr el Bared, Beddawi, el Minieh, Koura, Saadnayel and Joubjanine. BADAEL activities are open for Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. The project aims to:

  • Engage local community members in identifying priorities for the local socio-economic development of their communities by recognizing local needs and opportunities in their areas.
  • Train more than 9000 individuals, especially youth and women, on leadership and social entrepreneurship skills.
  • Launch a competition and then provide financial and technical support to entrepreneurial initiatives addressing challenges in the communities
  • Network and campaign to advance Social Entrepreneurship (SE) as a way to support socio-economic development led by members of the communities.

On a community level, the project targets thousands of individuals who will receive training on the basics of social entrepreneurship and how it generates income while also promoting social cohesion and active citizenship. The project will then organize a competition for SEs on the national level. The call for applications will be open in mid-February till March. The competition will take place in April. Shortlisted applicants will pitch in front of jury members. The winning teams will receive funding and technical support during the implementation phase that starts in early May.

Objectives

BADAEL will organize a national social entrepreneurship competition with the aim of awarding more than 40 social ventures financial grants and technical support.

Badael is seeking the services of a communication campaign team to:

1. Work with Badael partners to design a campaign plan for the launching and announcing of the social entrepreneurship competition including an outreach plan with relevant activities, materials and media visibility. The campaign will focus on the seven communities targeted by the project but will also have a national reach.

 

The competition promotion activities can include, but are not exclusive to, events, visibility materials (brochures, posters, leaflets), call centres, open days, TV and newspaper ads/appearances…

Media and Communications plan should cover:

  • social media
  • media appearances
  • Information spots
  • printed materials

 

2. Secure logistics, venues and catering for all events related to the campaign (when needed).

Competition outreach/campaign plan:            February 3rd 2019

Execution of the plan:                                     February till April                            

Duration:

From January 2019, till April 2019: Planning and implementation

Qualifications:

  1. Extensive experience in event planning and public campaigning, experience with NGO work is a plus
  2. Familiar with the context of the targeted communities
  3. Gender and culture sensitive
  4. Willing to travel and work in North Lebanon and Bekaa area
  5. Have qualified teams/suppliers to ensure high quality deliverables
