AFLAMUNA is a cultural nonprofit based in Beirut working to harness the power of independent Arab cinema to elevate the most pressing social, political, and cultural movements of our time. Established as a cooperative under the name of Beirut DC in 1999 by a group of Lebanese filmmakers and cultural organizers, it became a nonprofit organization in 2006 under the same name, launching multiple programs and initiatives that helped independent cinema flourish in the Arab region. Today, after over two decades, AFLAMUNA upholds this legacy while keeping an eye on the future.

Local Impact Lab بالعربي Syria - Lebanon, will be held in June 2022 for filmmakers and participants from the fields of film production and distribution, campaigning, journalism, politics, marketing, and PR. We are glad to announce that, once again, the lab will be held in Arabic with a few translated interventions. The lab is planned to be held physically unless circumstances impose a virtual option.

Project Manager

Job

The Masahat AFLAMUNA Project Manager oversees the implementation and administration of the project following AFLAMUNA’s mission and vision together with the Director of Programs and in coordination with AFLAMUNA’s other team members.
This ambitious project, currently being developed and piloted, aims to transform spaces of all kinds across the Arab region into vibrant, accessible, and inclusive community cinemas. Through mapping, training, and funding, spaces and cultural organizers will be empowered and equipped to bring independent cinema and culture to their communities.
