Job Description: Livelihoods Programme Manager

 

Position Title: Livelihoods Programme Manager  

Matrix management responsibility: Livelihoods Programme Team in Lebanon

Start date: Immediately

Duty station: Beirut with frequent travels to the field location in Lebanon

 

The purpose of this position is to support the B&Zs  Livelihood team in Lebanon. The position holder will support the organizations growth in the livelihood sector. S/He will be responsible for reporting, cross departmental coordination, , external stakeholder engagement, and providing support to project coordinators working in the livelihood sector

 

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical management support to  the Livelihood program implementation team in the field.

Ensure cross departmental coordination is taking place between livelihood team and other relevant departments throughout the project cycle management.  

Ensure Projects meet grant requirements including time frame, resource allocation, and risk management.

Mainstream livelihoods approaches and standardize modalities and train/mentor the field staff accordingly.

Work closely with the Country Director and the Area Managers to make sure programme designs are based on needs assessment findings and the community engagement is applied appropriately. 

Work closely with the Grant Management team to design projects and secure funding based on needs and gaps in the areas of interventions.

Ensure that the projects are designed with clear technical standards and aligned to B&Zs internal overall objectives and strategies on programme development.

Work with other managers in the Operations Department and Programs Development Department to ensure crosscutting and multi sector program capacity is continuously integrated and improved.

Work closely with Finance Manager to review budgets and financial reports and maintain accurate spending reports and up-to-date budgets.

Ensure collaborative planning with external stakeholders such as UN Agencies, other NGOs, and Govt ministries, as required.

Ensure B&Zs is appropriately represented at livelihood focused Working Groups

Represent B&Z with appropriate Donors and other stakeholders.

Provide input for donor periodical reports and other requests as appropriate

Carry out any other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

 

 

Education and Experience required

Bachelors/MA in marketing, MBA or  technical expertise in sustainable livelihoods, local economic development or related fields

At least  3 years of experience in livelihoods programme management

Experience in the NGO/humanitarian field

Experience in management of multicultural teams in complex settings.

Fluent in written and verbal communication in English and Arabic is essential.

The position requires ability and willingness to travel to field sites within Lebanon
