General Responsibilities with the Protection Team:

● Outreach and identify individual cases through regular presence in the community and in close
coordination with staff, as required
● Conduct intake interview, assess the specific needs of each incoming case, and develop the
safety plan for case management based on the identified needs (the cases should be prioritized
based on criteria and risk level analysis)
● Provide case management services in line with IASC protection standards, national SOPs and
B&Z guidelines for case management to ensure the psychological, social and physical well-being
of persons of concern
● Refer internally to clinical social worker, or externally to specialised services as per the
established referral pathways and criteria, when the case has specific needs (both refugees and
host communities) such as child protection (CP) and sexual and gender based violence (SGBV),
as well as mental-health needs
● Ensure engagement of the beneficiaries in the design of and support the team in the
implementation of the activities
● Respond to certain psycho-social needs by providing unspecialised social care, that is safe,
timely, effective, and protection oriented (sometimes required to be child-centred)
● Regularly follow up and support children, women and their families through house visits and
phone calls, providing guidance, advice, emotional support even after referrals until the case is
closed
● Actively participate in monthly protection network meetings in Shatila (external), and weekly
team meetings (internal), sharing progress and obstacles with the protection team
● Regularly follow up to ensure all services and action points listed in the case plan are carried out within agreed timeframes. Ensure that progress is regularly reviewed
● Record and organise data on individual cases, while protecting confidentiality and safety of
personal information according to the data protection protocols and confidentiality principle.
This requires information management using required forms and producing statistical reports

Responsibilities with the Monitoring and Evaluation team:
● Ensure that all data related to the project is documented, available and organized upon the
request of the program or M&E team
● Regularly document cases using Case Agenda and other agreed upon forms, update databases
to ensure a comprehensive record of the case

Responsibilities with the Protection Coordinator:
● Ensure that the work plan meets the objectives, targets and timeline of the project through
coordinating with operation teams
● Submit monthly reports concerning implemented outreach activities, case observation and
trends, referrals, focal points meetings, and related challenges and achievements concerning
case management work
● Ensure that all communications with beneficiaries, partners are in line with B&Z values and
policies
● Attend and active participation in the meetings in the community centre as needed;
● Provide positive contribution to B&Z community centre
 Any other related tasks as per request of the protection coordinator.
 

Skills & Qualifications:
● Experience in working with sensitive cases and experiences of protection case management
● Competency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, …), internet and basic technological communication means
● Good command in reading, speaking, & writing English
● Sensitivity to trauma, socio-cultural values, and protection needs
● Willingness to work with multi nationalities
● Sociable and caring personality
● Self-motivator and proactive
