PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The purpose of this internship position will be to provide support services across ARK’s Business Development team. This includes supporting project and proposal design and drafting, opportunity tracking, market research and information management.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project and proposal design: The selected candidate will conduct background research covering a range of different geographies and thematics, including stabilisation, peacebuilding, social cohesion and strategic communications. He/she will be required to provide short written summaries and content for bids.

Opportunity tracking: The selected candidate will support the monitoring of online sites to identify business development opportunities.

Market research: The selected candidate will conduct online research to identify potential partners as well as conduct competitor analysis.

Information management: The selected candidate will support the aggregation of learning within the department and developing more streamlined knowledge management processes surrounding core thematics and geographies.

Requirements:

Essential

Relevant university education in the social sciences (political science, international development, etc.); it is preferred that the candidate has completed their BA

Strong analytical ability and excellent writer (in English)

Well organised with strong attention to detail

Performs effectively under pressure and manages time well under deadlines

Strong communicator that works well as part of a team

Desirable

Ability to conduct research in Arabic

Previous similar experience

Previous experience living/working in the Middle East.
