_{The Arab Image Foundation in Beirut, Lebanon, is seeking a candidate for the full-time position of director. The individual should be creative, experienced and enthusiastic, to work hand in hand with the Board of Directors and the team, to lead and steer the organisation.}

_{About the AIF}

_{The Arab Image Foundation is an independent association forging new pathways for photography and image practices. Uniquely positioned at the intersection of artistic creation, research, and archiving, it explores, questions and confronts the complex social and political realities of our times.}

_{Its collection of over 500,000 photographic objects and documents from and related to the Middle East, North Africa and the Arab diaspora has been gradually assembled over the last 20 years by artists and researchers and through donations. With a critical and innovative approach, it collects, rethinks, preserves, activates and understands these photographs through their multiple strata, and enriches the collection in the process.}

_{Reports to: Board of Directors}

_{Major responsibilities include:}

• _{Managing the AIF’s team, programs, operations, and finances.}
• _{Fundraising, development and reporting.}
• _{Responsible for administrative tasks, legal matters, as well as human resources.}
• _{Representation of the AIF in organisational relationships with partners, donors and the public.}
• _{Performs other related duties as requested by the Board of Directors.}

_Profile

_{Significant managerial and leadership experience in a cultural or arts organization is required. Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as capacity of developing and implementing collective work processes.} 

_{Proficiency in English and Arabic is necessary.}

_{Start date: June 2020}
