EGR Facilitator
QITABI (EGR) Facilitator Scope of Practice:
QITABI EGR “Early Grade Reading” Facilitator provides an important contribution to the cluster of schools in a variety of capacities. The following areas are major points in service delivery:
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of an EGR facilitator include but are not limited to the following.
Working with the school principals and other teaching staff:
In order to scale up QITABI early grade reading “EGR/BLA” program in schools QITABI EGR Facilitator must adequately performs the following points to assist in creating a successful distribution of materials:
- Contact school principals and inform them of classroom materials delivery ((i.e. classroom libraries, Teacher’s portfolios, ICT equipment, etc..) planned date and time;
- Assist and be responsible for the distribution of classroom materials to the public schools;
- Coordinate with the drivers on the delivery date, time and advise them on the location of designated schools;
- Manage time in delivering the classroom materials to the schools in coordination with the project manager;
- Collect data, signed and stamped delivery notes of the materials distributed from the school administrator;
- Orient school principals, cycle one and grade 4 Arabic language teachers and coordinators on the use and activation of classroom materials;
- Compile all hard copies delivery notes and write needed reports and submit to the project manager on due time;
- Assist the office staff in carrying out job functions when necessary, and be responsible of all logistics activities related to schools;
- Work as a liaison between project manager and school community;
- Develop knowledge and awareness of the formal public school rules and code of conduct;
- Develop knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective teaching of Reading and Writing;
- Mediate and resolve arising conflicts.
Skills Required:
- Knowledgeable of the community they live in and its geography;
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills;
- Excellent computer skills in particular word, excel, PowerPoint & Outlook;
- Motorized (has a car) and able to transport easily within different regions;
- Troubleshooting;
- Previous experience within NGO and working with adults and children;
- Previous experience in school setting, teaching is a plus;
