AMURT Lebanon Background:

AMURT’s mission is to help improve the quality of life for the poor and disadvantaged people of the world, and those affected by calamity and conflict. It aims to assist individuals and communities to secure life’s necessities and to gain greater social and economic fulfillment, while honoring individuals’ customs, language, and religious beliefs.

AMURT Lebanon registered in 2012 as an independent charitable organization and is affiliated with the AMURT Global Network, headquartered in Washington, USA.

Since 2012, AMURT has been addressing the Syrian crisis and its effects, as well as hardships the Lebanese community is experiencing. Its programs have ranged from disaster relief and emergency response, to psychosocial support, diverse education programs, child protection, social stability, and is currently focusing on the livelihoods sector.

 

Vocational Opportunities for Youths in Chouf and Aley:

Under this current project, funded by BMZ and KNH Germany, 500 youths between 15 and 25 years old are offered vocational qualification courses that encourage and support the Dual System approach, in addition to psychosocial support and other activities. The aim is to offer youth the space to grow, work on their self-development, and train not only in theoretical but also practical skills that are relevant for their future occupations and, most importantly, are oriented towards the actual needs of the Lebanese market.

 

Job Purpose:                                                                                         

In coordination with the Executive Committee, the HR & Admin Officer is responsible for the implementation of human resources policies and various human resource and administrative functions. These functions include contracts management, personnel data management, recruitment and selection of staff, tracking attendance, NSSF procedures, and team appraisals.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
 

Administrative Involvement

  • Process and maintain staff-related documentation including recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, and employee leaves of absence.
  • Prepare all staff-related letters, internal memos, visa support letters, recommendation letters, and other documentation as needed.
  • Preserve and update human resources documents such as organizational charts, calendars, directories, and staff files.
  • Ensure exit interviews are carried out with all staff leaving and complete termination paperwork.

Recruitment Involvement

  • Coordinate with AMURT Board and Executive Committee for staffing needs.
  • Post vacancy announcements according to the recruitment plan.
  • Filter CVs as per AMURT guidelines and job requirements.
  • Schedule job interviews and conduct first interviews.
  • Select qualified candidates to refer them to the Executive Committee and make hiring recommendations.
  • Prepare staff contracts and necessary procedures for hiring.
  • Contact other candidates to inform about hiring results.
  • Conduct new staff orientations (coordinate with Project Coordinator for trainings, set up a workspace, email address, etc.)
  • Communicate AMURT policies, benefits, procedures, schedules, and values to job applicants

Performance Involvement

  • Coordinate with Project Coordinator and Team Leaders for staff appraisals in order to ensure that all procedural requirements are fulfilled.
  • Process and share outcomes with the Board and Executive Committee.
  • Schedule meetings with the Project Coordinator and the staff member to discuss the outcomes if needed.

Personnel Involvement

  • Monitor the daily attendance of all AMURT staff.
  • Update and maintain payroll records to support payroll preparation.
  • Collect and file leave of absence and sick reports.
  • Respond to staff’s difficulties and complaints according to grievance guidelines.
  • Present Employee Monthly Report to the Finance Team at the end of each month.
  • Prepare the NSSF registration/termination forms and documents of all employees.
  • Prepare NSSF family declarations of employees.
  • Prepare tax declaration forms with the Finance Team.

General HR Tasks

  • Conduct research related to HR to stay updated with relevant compliance requirements and adapt internal procedures accordingly.
  • Provide HR assistance to all AMURT staff to ensure compliance and efficient application of HR policies and procedures.
