Position Summary:
In response to the ongoing Syria crisis and based on a recent needs assessment, ANERA is leading a UNICEF funded non-formal education program for “Quick Impact Skills Development for Youth Affected by the Syria Crisis 2”. The Education Field Coordinator will be based in a field office to support the project partners in their respective area in ensuring the achievement of desired learning outcomes by the students. He/she will follow up on the day-to-day activities of the project and support data collection efforts at the field implementation level based on tools and methods set by ANERA Education program manager. 

The Education Field Coordinator will be responsible to:

Support in the identification of partner organizations in the target area and in the outreach and recruitment of teaching staff and target beneficiaries
Build a strong relationship with local partners and youth target groups and represent the project before the partners when required
Act as focal point for partners and all partner NGOs, as well as other relevant stakeholders and municipalities;
Support implementation of the project and oversee all necessary logistics, oversee and manage all field activities including placement, workshops, trainings, events, etc.

Monitor the implementation and progress in the field and ensure that activities implemented are in line with approved plans and agreed indicators

Manage and coordinate local and field visits for project manager or any concerned parties;

Coordinate meetings with different stakeholders (school authorities, students, parents and communities representatives, NGOs, UNRWA representatives and any other relevant stakeholders)

Assess ongoing needs for capacity building among education staff, partners, teaching staff (beneficiaries) and discuss actions with PM in a timely manner

Collect data, compile and update information in the field and prepare minutes of meetings and progress reports as requested
Any other task relevant to the position and agreed upon with the Education PM.

Requirements and Qualifications

BA or technical degree in the field of Education, Psychology, or Social Science

Two to three (2-3) years of related experience with local and/or international NGOs

Skills

Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations

Good interpersonal and networking skills with local partners and target beneficiaries

Spoken and written fluency in Arabic

Working knowledge of English.

Strong oral and written communications skills.

Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
