BACKGROUND:

Women Now for Development is a feminist, women-led non-governmental organization dedicated to deepening and strengthening women’s role in Syrian and Lebanese communities by enhancing their social, economic, and cultural participation. Women Now was established in June 2012 by in response to the conflict in Syria and the ensuing humanitarian crisis.  Today, we implement programmes in four Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS): two in Syria and two in Bekaa, Lebanon, reaching thousands of beneficiaries annually.  We work in four integrated programmatic areas: 

• Protection - Psychosocial support,
• Empowerment - Education and Vocational Skills training,
• Participation - Leadership training and Rights Awareness
• Advocacy and Campaigning - at the local and international levels. 

At Women Now, we work from the ground up to empower ourselves and the community around us in order to bring about significant, long-term change.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Trainer will be a crucial member of the Women Now for Development team in Lebanon.  She/he will manage the preparation and implementation training sessions for a Psychosocial team with the focus on loss cases.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Program Manager and Protection Adviser, the Trainer will work to complete the following tasks:

• Training on management and facilitation skills for psychosocial support groups, whether in person or remotely (online)
• Training on sessions preparation for a psychosocial program specialized in dealing with Trauma resulted from Loss.
• Attend and supervise implementing the above-mentioned psychosocial program sessions.

• Conduct regular reports to be sent to the Program Manager.

• Implementing Technical and practical evaluation/assessment of the trained group.
• Provide suggestions that complement the given training.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS:

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

1. Educational background in Psychology or Psychological counseling. A master’s degree or a PhD would be a plus.
2. Experience in training and supervising remotely and in person.
3. Knowledge in and understanding of the Syrian context.

Language Skills:
