ABOUT ABAAD

ABAAD – Resource Centre for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC-accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region.

 

JOB PURPOSE:

Under the direct supervision of ABAAD Founder and Director, the Human Resources Coordinator will undertake a variety of human resources administrative duties. This includes assisting with recruitment and performance appraisals, maintaining employee records, assisting with payroll processing and providing administrative support to employees.

REPORTING LINES: Post holder reports to ABAAD’s Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure the implementation of HR policies and procedures, in line with the Lebanese labor law
  2. Coordinate the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting, issuing employment contracts etc.
  3. Oversee employee orientation and induction
  4. Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates etc.) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
  5. Handle employee complaints
  6. Assist supervisors in performance management procedures
  7. Ensure proper implementation of ABAAD Code of Conduct and policies at all times
  8. Consult ABAAD’s legal advisor on employees’ contractual matters
  9. Provide support to ABAAD management as requested

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position Good understanding of the Lebanese Labor law
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic, clear and concise reporting in English. Knowledge of French is a plus
  • Flexible pro-active attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure, as individual and in a team
  • Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
