About Karma

Karma is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Lebanese Ministry of Interior in November 2015 under the registration number 2565. Karma was founded in May 2015. Through fundraising and personal donations we raise money to pay for the tertiary medical treatment of refugee and underprivileged children here in Lebanon. Karma provides not only financial but also psyho-social relief for people who have already dealt with a lot in their lives. Karma believes that every child deserves access to healthcare regardless of nationality, religion, social class or diagnosis.

About the Team

Karma, an organization reliant on volunteers and their contributions, is recruiting a team of interns that will assist in communications, outreach, events planning, and activity management. These interns will be placed into different departments but will work as a team to contribute to Karma’s overall strategy.

Eligibility

We welcome applications from undergraduates or fresh graduates, or those in the process of completing their master’s degree. Those majoring in communications, business, public health, political science, social sciences, or similar are prioritized.

The internship is for the period of mid-July and till mid-October. Interns will be expected to work for 2 days a week. a Candidates should be knowledgeable about Karma’s work and should have working capacity in English. Arabic is also highly desirable, as are strong writing skills in both or either language.

Main Tasks

Under the supervision of the Outreach and Communications Officer, interns will be placed into 2 positions: Communications and Fundraising.

Communications interns will be expected to: 

• Assist in developing a Social Media strategy on Facebook and Instagram for Karma
• Assist in website content updates
• Schedule, organise, and attend events for Karma, in coordination with the Fundraising and Project team
• Assist in promoting Karma’s work by developing content (written, visual, and video) for social media
• Contact press outlets to promote Karma’s work
• Assist in other communication related tasks

Fundraising interns will be expected to: 

• Plan, organize and implement a crowdfunding campaign
• Outreach to organizations abroad for funding
• Outreach for adopt-a-child program
• Coordinate with the communications team to promote campaigns
• Assist in other fundraising related tasks

The intern will receive a completion letter for their internship and Karma will sign-off on internship verification forms for university students. Interns will also receive LBP 15,000 per diem.
