Background
USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI 2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools.

World Learning has an immediate vacancy for a consultancy position named “Graphic Designer” for the USAID-funded Quality Instruction Towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI 2) in Lebanon.

Scope and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

The consultant will work closely with World Learning’s Beirut office Senior Communication and Digital Media Officer as a “Graphic Designer” to deliver quality designs for various QITABI 2’s material and activities in line with USAID and World Learning requirements.
The consultant will be able to:

Under Reporting and Publications:
• Work in close coordination with the Senior Communication and Digital Media Officer to design the layouts for the publications and reports for QITABI 2 outcomes 1, 2 and 3 based on QITABI 2 guidelines.

Under Designs and artwork:
• Deliver creative and innovative ideas for print, electronic including design and layout of products
• Improve and edit artwork, photos, charts and other graphic elements
• Create different illustrative materials such as animation, presentations and design of CD/DVD packaging for outcomes 1, 2 and 3
• Design/layout template for resource material, training handbooks, fact sheets, privacy policy, external report and folders among others;
• Design/layout template for web-project sites and web articles;
• Design/edit printing packages (all layout and design files, including pre-press for the printing house and web-versions) for publications and other communication products, such as reports, brochures, handbooks, leaflets, charts, photographs, posters, folders
• Design creative, catchy and consistent templates for QITABI 2’s social media outlets to use for all channels simultaneously including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
• Design greeting cards for national holidays and other occasions as needed

Other:
• Design any other product or template as required by QITABI 2 Senior Communication and Digital Media
Officer

Required Qualifications:
• Experience in animation or design role
• Portfolio demonstrating previous professional experience in 2D animation and preferably in similar field
• Creativity, artistic talent, and an eye for design
• Passion and a knack for storytelling
• Interpersonal communication skills with a willingness to accept feedback and constructive criticism
