Development for People and Nature Association (DPNA) is a nongovernmental, secular association that works through a wide range of networks of civil society organizations (CSOs) to meet the needs of the local community on the basis of sustainable development. DPNA was established in 2003 and now has 36 full- and part-time staff members as well as 500 volunteers supporting DPNA to accomplish its vision and mission.
DPNA’s Vision: A non-violent democratic society where individuals enjoy all their rights and freedoms without discrimination.
DPNA’s Mission: To empower, mobilize, and enable citizens to change and meet the needs of the communities, as individuals and/or groups, specifically the marginalized communities in rural, bordered, and poverty areas, through human rights based approach.

In response to youth experiencing “the violence of exclusion” and the pressing social and economic needs, the proposed intervention promotes an integrated, sustainable and holistic approach to empowerment and resilience for youth among refugee and host communities. The design builds on two major components of social stability and advocacy that are closely interconnected and mutually reinforce each other - applying a gender-sensitive and disability inclusive approach.

The overall objective of the proposed action implemented by the Youth RESOLVE consortium is to strengthen social stability among youth by empowering them to become leading actors in their communitiesThis will be achieved through two Specific Objectives:

SO 1 Refugees and host communities youth interact for the benefit of their communities 

SO 2: Municipal/community decision makers implement refugee and host community youth-led propositions for change

DPNA is responsible to implement the project activities in the following geographical scopes: Barja, Saida, Mghayriye, and Bkossta

 

The role of the Project Manager is mainly to:

  • Ensure an efficient coordination among partners and other components of the project;
  • Support team in implementation of the project’s activities;
  • Set the project’s work plan with the project team;
  • Ensure that the project’s work plan is followed efficiently and effectively;
  • Understand and appropriately implement donor guidelines and procedures regarding reporting requirements, and stay informed of any new official guidelines and procedures;
  • Follow-up on project expenses and coordinating with the Finance team on budget management, providing regular updates on budget projections;
  • Conduct regular meetings with DPNA’s Program Manager (PM)
  • Provide strategic advice and ensure appropriate coordination between the project team members;
  • Prepare communication materials as needed with the review of the PM;
  • Provide timely and detailed reporting of project activities to the PM;
  • Timely identify, inform and discuss any issues with the PM;
  • Ensure that all aspects of the project’s daily management are met, including logistics, administration, security, visibility, community and beneficiaries liaison, evidence generation, coordination and risk management;
  • Apply capacity building sessions to the project team on the usage of project management tools;
  • Ensure that all lessons learned, risks and innovation are well documented and shared internally in the area team and/or other relevant colleagues;
  • Attend and participate in sector working group, consortium operational meetings among other national youth forums;
  • Build good working relationship and trust with the stakeholders in the targeted communities;
  • Build trust with the targeted community members;
  • Ensure that Child protection and all other policies are implemented;
  • Perform other duties as required;
  • Follow-up with the M&E Officer on proper project activities evidencing and archiving;

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • University degree or higher education relevant to Social Studies, Education, or other relevant fields;  
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in implementation of Youth Empowerment/Child Protection/Protection programming; human rights and/or advocacy work especially with local government such as municipalities;
  • Excellent written and spoken English language;
  • Acquainted with core principles related Child Protection, Safeguarding…; (certificate is a plus)
  • Experience working in emergency settings;
  • Strong management skills (Programming and Financial);
  • Experience in capacity building – facilitation skills;
  • Monitoring and Evaluation skills;
  • Adaptable;
  • Good Communication Skills;
  • Team-oriented;
