Internship - Communication

Humanity & Inclusion Lebanon mission is looking to recruit an intern in the domain of communication to support the mission in the elaboration of its communication plan. The internship duration is 6 months and the intern is going to be based in Beirut. Field and project visits will take place upon needs and request.

Objective: Under the supervision of the country manager the intern will have the following responsibilities:

Responsibility 1: Be the focal point with media and Press

• Develop a pool of journalist who are interested to promote HI and work in close collaboration with HI project.
• Identify the suitable tools and channel of communication that support HI mission and promote HI projects in Lebanon. Develop a data base gathering the communication supports (Website, TV, Radio, Newspaper, …) that HI can use.

Responsibility 2:  Develop and manage social media networks

• Create, publish and develop communication using social media channel (Facebook, twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, …) following Humanity & Inclusion policies

Responsibility 3: Produce and revise the communication tools used by HI Lebanon mission

• Review the mission communication tools and update when needed.
• Create with Project manager, the project fact sheet standards and project fact sheet for each project.
• Under the Country Manager responsibility and in collaboration with the project manager follow the donor’s communication requirements and disseminate the needed

Responsibility 4: In charge of the internal and external communication under the supervision of the country manager

• Identify and elaborate communication plan for HI Lebanon mission in collaboration with HI Country Manager.
• Develop and publish articles with project manager using internal newsletter and ensure that the mission communications tools are accurate and adequate to HI communication plan
• Support the writing summary documents, success stories, newsletters, brochures, posters, catalogs, fact sheets and other documents to inform and ensure the visibility of the organization and its actions in the country.

The intern has to work in close collaboration with mission staff in order to explain the communication action plan and to promote HI values.

Criteria:

• University degree (Bac +3 minimum) in communication or journalism or student of master in communication and journalism;
• Arabic and English are needed, French is a plus;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent knowledge of social media platform and application;
• Significant interest in development issues (economic, social, environmental)
• Ability to manage transversal projects, Organize and coordinate events and coordination of various interlocutors ...
• Autonomy, Take initiative, wide vision
• Intellectual curiosity;
• Relational Spirit and teamwork;
• Good analytical and synthesis skills;
• Open to facilitate working relationships in a multicultural environment.
• Previous experience or volunteering with NGO or INGO is a plus.

HI supports the trainee with 30.000 LBP per day of internship to ensure his transportation and one meal during the day.
