Protection Officer (Case Management)

About the job

Supervision of the daily activities of the case management interventions with vulnerable women, men and children with a focus on gender-based violence survivors in addition to children and their caregivers survivors of violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

• Provide age and gender appropriate and specialized technical guidance to CP &GBV caseworkers on case management and psychosocial support to children, women and girls, including guidance on caring for child survivors
• Remain abreast of SOPs and best practices at the field, on the national and global level. In addition, Ensure all CP caseworkers are familiar, practice and adhere to the Child Protection Minimum Standards and the National CP Case Management SOPs and that the GBV caseworkers are familiar, practice and adhere to the IASC GBV guidelines. Provide core case management and other case management trainings such as BID amongst child protection specific topics.
• Facilitate efficient coordination between the different DRC Protection sections and sectors, especially between the caseworkers, the PSS assistants, the Protection Assistant and the lawyer.
• Supervise the daily work of caseworkers and ensure the quality provision of emotional support group sessions to women and girls at risk of or survivors of gender based violence in compliance with best-practice and DRC’s guidelines. Supervise the collection, storage, filing and analysis of GBV and CP related data (through Primero/GBVIMS or the CPIMS) and make note of trends observed.
• Produce monthly reports and support the Manager in submitting internal and donor reports as per schedule
• Monthly auditing of filing procedures and Bi-weekly review of open cases using case supervision tools and develop systems for regular supervision of case management
• Train all newly recruited CP and GBV case workers on the case management process, the relevant SOPs and the data filing and storing procedures including the usage of Primero . Ensure proper training and coaching of newly recruited CP and GBV case workers prior to their deployment to the field.
• Supervise the correct documentation and compilation of CM forms in accordance with all CM steps and related tools and procedure and ensure proper follow up on case management services. Provide core case management and other case management trainings such as BID amongst child protection specific topics.
• Organize CM meetings with service providers, UNHCR and other donors when needed.
• Maintain an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area and ensure that caseworkers are informed about the available services. Manage received referrals from different agencies assign,  follow-up on action plans and provide feedback
• Actively participate in CP and GBV Working groups, GBVIMS Working groups and other relevant sector working groups and coordination meetings and advocate for beneficiaries’ needs

About you

• To be successful in this role we expect you to have a Bachelor/Degree in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

• 2-4 years of experience in counseling survivors of gender-based violence and providing GBV case management to individuals at risk of or survivors of GBV and/or at least 2-4 years of experience in child protection case management and providing counseling to children and their caregivers survivors of violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect
• Strong written and oral communication skills, effective in representation and liaison with external parties.
• Excellent knowledge of Child Protection and GBV minimum standards and basic principles
• Ability to provide technical support, trainings and daily supervision of GBV and CP caseworkers when asked

Desirable

• NGO experience and Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon is preferred
• Master degree in social work and/or psychology

We offer

• Contract length: until 31 March 2020
• Band:  H1
• Monthly Basic Salary: 1900 USD
• Duty Station: Tripoli
• Start date:  Mid January - February 2020
