EXPECTED TASKS AND OUTPUTS

Working closely with I’mpossible related staff, the Consultant is expected to undertake the following tasks:

I. Assessment and Design

A Rapid Assessment will be undertaken to understand the reasons and triggers of tension in the chosen areas of work along with possible solutions.

The Rapid assessment is divided into three phases:

Phase I: Planning including logistic preparation, preparation of questionnaire. The sample of interviews needs to reflect the area’s diversity, in terms of geographic, economic, cultural, religious, and linguistic richness.

Phase II: Training and Data Collection. Before data collection can begin, The Consultant will train the volunteers the required techniques such as neutral interviewing, probing questions, and data recording.

Phase III: Analysis of data. Once all the interviews have been collected the consultant will reconvene to merge data from all instruments and tabulate scores to facilitate the analysis.  

2. Training for the Informal Oversight Committee IOC

The IOC will be created in Tal Hayat and will culminate in a list of interventions which will look to identifying projects aiming to build resilience and promote social stability. The consultant will organize 4-day trainings for the committee on topics related to conflict analysis, conflict sensitivity and human rights, inclusivity, community engagement and other topics based on identified needs, such as, but not limited to peacebuilding and conflict resolution/mediation skills, team building and communication skills. The final training package should include training outline and agenda, training material, presentations, handouts, exercises, training session plans, and pre and post-tests.

3. Reporting

The final report (3-5 pages in length, not including annexes), will include a brief about the trainings, results of the pre and post-tests, key highlights of the trainings, and results of the training evaluation, lessons learned, and any recommendations for future implementation.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

Advanced university degree in international development, conflict management and mitigation, or other relevant field.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a trainer in the domain of conflict management, mitigation, and prevention.

Experience in conducting Needs Assessments and Training Material Development

Language requirement: Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic is required;
