Job Title : Puppetry Training Consultant
Reports to : Project Manager, PSS expert
Duty Station : Bekaa/Beirut
Position Type : Consultant
Job Purpose:
Providing training to the social workers and the psychologist in the project on the provision of PSS through puppetry. This training on psychosocial support through the use of small puppet, films and appropriate puppet tools should include following topics:
1- Protection (Child Protection, Child Friendly Space);
2- Psychosocial support (definition, techniques, methodologies);
3- Interactive learning (video with puppets - debriefing techniques);
4- M & E tools specific to the methodology
Generic Duties:
- Plan the workshop of the puppetry training (Work plan)
- Conduct a total of 8 training sessions with the selected staff – 5 days of training followed by a 3 days refresher training
- Conduct a refresher session after 4 months of implementation.
- Train social workers and psychologist on the methodology M&E tools
- Assess the skills of puppetry training by the staff in order to analyze gaps for improvement for the updating session.
- Accomplish any other assignments regarding the planning and conduction of the workshop given by PM
- Preparation of a personalized PSS manual (12 sessions per video) for the implementation puppetry session
Monitoring and Reporting
- Provide the PM with a specific work plan of the course of the training
- Prepare an assessment form to assess the status of the puppetry sessions of the INTERSOS staff
- Report on the analysis of the impact of the activities performed, in collaboration with the INTERSOS staff performing the puppetry sessions.
- Deliver the Puppetry PSS manual within the timeframe agreed with the PM
Specific Duties:
(Can be adapted to the particularities of the job location and the requirement of the project. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired).
- Create a 2-phase training plan of the puppetry method for social workers and psychologists (Main-training and updating/refresher training)
- Ensure timely and proper implementation of the Training Plan.
- Monitor and assess the implementation of the puppetry training by INTERSOS staff.
- Include the assessment of the INTERSOS puppetry sessions in the updating training in order to improve their performance.
- In cooperation with the INTERSOS Staff implementing the puppetry tool, create a manual for the use of the puppetry method in 12 PSS sessions for each puppetry video, including the description of the method, implementation, and outcomes of puppetry activities.
Education:
University Degree in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent
Certified Trainer in provision of PSS through puppetry
Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Professional Competencies:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience including giving trainings in puppetry method
- Fluent Computer literacy (Word, Excel)
- Good Reporting skills
- Driving License

Languages:
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
