Consultancy Purpose

A number of Oxfam employees have experienced ongoing exposure to the incredibly difficult challenges faced by refugees and within the beneficiary communities. In addition, some staff face distressing situations on a personal basis. Other psychosocial risks identified for staff include high workloads and a high-pressured work environment.

 

Oxfam has a responsibility to take all reasonable steps to protect and promote staff psychosocial health and wellbeing including ensuring staff have appropriate training and support.

 

Oxfam GB are looking for a qualified counselling psychologist to provide psychosocial support activities to our staff, including:

 

  • Group psychological risk factors and stress debriefing sessions
    • Initially 6 sessions, 2 within each location (Beirut, Tripoli, & Zahle) are required to provide teams with the opportunity to discuss the psychological impacts of their work within a safe and facilitated environment.
  • Individual counselling sessions (short term basic counselling)

 

  • Stress Management and Building Resilience Training Session

 

  • A short report to Oxfam GB Management indicating initial feedback regarding commonly identified psychosocial risk factors and including any recommendations for actions to be taken at an organisational level.

skills, experience and knowledge

  • Qualified psychologist with a minimum of 3 years counselling experience.
  • At least 2 years of Professional experience in the related field.
  • Experience with NGO, preferably in emergency context.
  • Very good English and Arabic language skills required.
  • Experience in mental health and psychosocial support training for groups.
