UNICEF Call for Interest: Adolescent and Youth Development Programme

UNICEF is the agency of the United Nations mandated to advocate for the protection of children's rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.

The UNICEF Adolescent and Youth Development programme was designed to focus both on top-down strategies with the government for system strengthening, as well as bottom-up approaches, working with local communities, building local capacity and working directly with adolescent and youth, to build a cadre of a new generation of advocates who can think out-of-the-box and influence their communities.

To address and respond to the major needs of the adolescents and youth in Lebanon, UNICEF invested in skills-based building programmes which aim to increase professional readiness and employability for the most disadvantaged adolescents and youth in Lebanon (15-24 years) and enables them to access technical and vocational training and innovative skills building programmes and later jobs/ income generation opportunities.

The Programme is guided by the Government/UNICEF Country Programme Document (CPD) with the current timeframe of 2017-2021. Within these frameworks, the Adolescent and Youth Development Programme is launching an open Call for Expression of Interest to select partners for the provision of relevant services in 2020. The guidance contained in this Call is for International and National Civil Society Organizations that wish to partner with UNICEF on this portfolio starting January 2020 for a period of 12 months (subject to funding availability). Depending on availability of additional funds and the progressive assessment of unmet needs, new programmes or the expansion of existing ones may be explored later in 2020.

Further information on the Adolescent and Youth programme can be found at www.unicef.org/Lebanon

Organizations that are interested in applying to the present call will be required to apply on UN Partners Portal, after undergoing a validation process.

An evaluation committee will assess the submissions against eligibility and selection criteria listed at the bottom of this page and notify all applicants on the outcome of the process accordingly.

Participation in this Call for Expression of Interest does not guarantee ultimate selection for partnership with UNICEF.

Selected partners will be invited to adjust and further develop with UNICEF the full Programme Documents (PDs) in accordance with the applicable policy and procedures for UNICEF partnership with CSOs and depending on funding availability and existing gaps.
