Delivery of sport equipment and clothes

1. Background

In the framework of the Lebanese German cooperation between the government of Lebanon and the government of Germany, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in close cooperation with the Lebanese “Ministry of Social Affairs” (MoSA) is implementing the “Local Development Programme for Deprived Urban Areas in North Lebanon” (UDP_NL). The programme is commissioned by Federal Republic of Germany and co-financed by the European Union.

UDP_NL proposes to contribute to social stability in North Lebanon, namely in Tripoli and the 5 districts of Al-Koura, Batroun, Bcharre, Zgharta, Minieh-Dannieh. The main target groups are youth and women from vulnerable areas.

This request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) is launched to support Module 3 of UDP_NL which targets social cohesion by promoting inter-community relations between the youth of the different communities. within the timeframe of 2019 to 2021.

For this reason, the programme is conducting courses with the specific target group of youth on how to use sport as a medium to support the development of children’s personalities and to transfer life skills. All participants will receive a sport starting kit consisting of different sport equipment to conduct sport training sessions.

2. Objective

This request for Expression of Interest (EOI) is intended to identify suppliers of sport equipment and clothes which have proven experience in the following fields:

1. Delivering sports equipment for regular training sessions (incl. footballs, bibs, cones etc.)
2. Delivering sports clothes for sport participants (incl. track suits, T-shirts etc.)
3. Capability of printing logos or similar on sports clothes

Interested suppliers will be included in a short list of pre-identified implementing partners.

The short-listed suppliers will be asked at a later stage to prepare a more detailed technical proposal and a financial budget.

Delivery of sport equipment

The sports equipment and clothes need to be of high quality and comply with common standards (e.g. FIFA) and need to be available in high quantity with consistent quality.

The equipment needs to be made available in the Tripoli area.

3. Qualifications and Requirements

Eligibility Criteria of the training provider:

Registration under the Lebanese rules and regulations.

Proven track record of delivering high quality sport equipment and clothes according to existing standards. (brochures, flyers, etc…)

Proven track record of printing logos or similar on sport clothes.
