RESPONSIBILITIES:
Case Management & Healthcare Coordination
- Manage, coordinate, and conduct regular assessments for a team of Case Management Officers through effective group supervision, leadership and individual casework coaching in order deliver accountable and collaborative work
- Ensure holistic oversight and management of casework cycle from case initiation to case closure by providing sufficient guidance and technical support to the case team, and undertaking casework for complex cases when necessary
- Advocate for the best interest of children with other members of the interdisciplinary team and within the healthcare institution to ensure children’s and families’ informed decision-making, consent, concordance with plans of care, and quality of life
- Facilitate case referrals to/from partner organizations and agencies, and assist families in understanding related policies, eligibility criteria, and financial/legal issues
- Ensure the implementation of common ethical and legal standards in social work in healthcare settings, and identify and build on protective and risk factors
- Identify child protection and SGBV concerns, and ensure that Child Protection principles are followed throughout all steps of casework
- Coordinate palliative care, including pain and symptom management, with medical staff
- Address family systems issues, including the impact of healthcare concerns, illness, and disease on family relationships; life cycles; and caregiving roles and support models.
Behavioral Health
- Provide intervention plans and/or referral for cases related to grief, loss and bereavement; depression, anxiety, substance-use and other mental health conditions; sexual health and concerns related to sexual orientation, gender identity and roles. This should be taken into consideration according to the child’s stage of development.
- Provide counseling and behavioral change evidence-based intervention.
Organizational Development & Administration
- Strengthen the organization’s monitoring and evaluation processes and tools, and provide support in evaluating the impact of programs
- Develop internal and institutional donors reports on progress of programs, and ensure that all reports, data and accountability are delivered within timeframes
- Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of case management plans for programs
- Contribute to policy and strategy development, and provide support in the development and implementation of new proposals and program
- Provide support in maintaining and developing the organization’s medical and humanitarian partnerships for enhanced collaborative work
- Ensure that case files are updated in a timely manner using the organization’s digital platforms
- Request and expend weekly allocated cash advances, and review and approve relevant paperwork for the case team
- Oversee that physical receipts and bills from treatment providers are maintained
- Conduct trainings for staff relevant to their professional development
- Develop and lead presentations to external parties regarding the organization and its program activities
- Carry out additional tasks and duties as directed by the Lebanon Country Manager.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Based in Beirut, the working environment will be a combination of both field and office based work. Field work may be in various settings such as hospitals, primary healthcare centers, community health clinics, and non-profit social services organizations. There may be times when the position holder is required to work on the weekends or evenings and undertake other duties which are broadly in line with the above responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or related client-centered discipline
- 5 to 7 years of experience working in project management, project coordination, and/or program development, including donor reporting and M&E functions
- A one-year experience working with children in a humanitarian/health setting is mandatory
- Native Arabic language; proficiency in English is a must
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to different environments and audiences; caring and compassionate while being able to set clear boundaries with target children, caregivers, and partners
- Familiarity with administrative systems including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work within INARA’s guiding principles.
Desirable
- Experience working with vulnerable children who have medical needs and corresponding knowledge of the principles and practices required when working with these children
- Experience working frontline with vulnerable populations in Lebanon or elsewhere in the Middle East
- An understanding of medical issues which arise out of conflict situations
- A demonstrable understanding of the current socio-political and refugee contexts in Lebanon and Syria
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with an ability to communicate to a wide range of actors
- Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills.
