Training for Children's Summer Camp Animators

Our Organisation

forumZFD (forum Civil Peace Service) provides training and project support in Germany and abroad. With its members, it advocates the renunciation of violence-based policies, reinforcement of civilian resources in the state and society and democratic participation of all social, ethnic and religious groups.

forumZFD currently has more than 80 employees working in 14 locations in Germany, the Middle East, the Western Balkans, and South-East Asia. forumZFD has been working in Lebanon since 2009.

The Lebanon-team consists of 18 staff members working in the programme areas of Community Mobilising, Dealing with the Past and Capacity Development.

In the field of Capacity Development forumZFD supports conflict transformation and peace-building projects and enhances the capability of NGOs to work in a conflict sensitive manner through training and mentoring. The portfolio of trainings forumZFD developed and implemented with partner organisations includes a broad variety of conflict transformation tools and methods such as Reflecting on Peace Practice 

The Training

In response to the great interest Forum Civil Peace Service and STEPS have received for their most recent workshop held in June, we would like to give more organisations the opportunity to learn about our new summer activities toolkit “Hawli w Hawalaye” (About and Around me). This will be made possible through a five-day training workshop for animators from 21 to 25 July 2019.

If you are an organisation that regularly carries out educational summer activities for children and are looking for innovative ways to facilitate your activities, this toolkit might constitute a valuable resource for you. It is designed to equip summer camp animators with everything they need to organise successful educational summer camps for children between the ages of 8 and 12. The toolkit contains exercises that can cover up to 7 weeks of activity, ranging from a first “getting to know each other” meeting, to conflict transformation skills and community initiatives conveyed through games and songs. Moreover, the toolkit offers practical tips to animators on how to carry out activities, suggested agendas and recommendations for building an engaging programme.

The toolkit was developed through the joint efforts of STEPS and forumZFD. It has been prepared by educational experts and builds on a rich variety of civil society experiences in Lebanon.

في ضوء الاهتمام الواسع الذي التمسه منتدى خدمة السلام المدنية وشركة خطوات (STEPS) في ورشة العمل الأخيرة التي نظّماها في شهر حزيران/يونيو، نودّ منح عدد أكبر من المنظمات فرصة التعرّف إلى دليل الأنشطة الصيفية "حولي وحواليّ"، وذلك من خلال ورشة عمل تدريبية للمنشّطين مدّتها خمسة أيّام، تُعقَد من ٢١ إلى ٢٥ تمّوز/يوليو ٢٠١٩.

إذا كنتم مؤسّسة تنظّم دوريًا مخيمات أطفال تعليمية صيفية وتبحثون عن طرق جديدة ومبتكرة لتسهيل أنشطتكم، فقد تجدون في هذا الدليل موردًا ثمينًا، إذ إنّه هو مصمّمٌ لتزويد منشّطي المخيّمات الصيفية بكلّ ما يحتاجونه لتنظيم مخيّمات تعليميّة صيفية ناجحة للأطفال الذين تبلغ أعمارهم بين ٨ و١٢ سنة. يتضمّن الدليل محاور تكفي لتنظيم نشاط يمتد على مدى 7 أسابيع، يبدأ بتعارف الأطفال إلى بعضهم البعض ويشمل مهارات تحويل النزاع ومبادرات مجتمعيّة تُنفَّذ من خلال الألعاب والأغنيات. يقدم الدليل أيضًا نصائح للتنشيط الجيّد ونماذج عن برامج مخيمات أطفال صيفية وتوصيات حول كيفيّة وضع برنامج مثير للاهتمام.

أُعِدّ دليل "حولي وحواليي" بفضل الجهود المشتركة لمنتدى خدمة السلام المدنية وشركة خطوات (STEPS)، وقد أشرف على إعداده خبراء تربويّون، فضلًا عن أنّه يستند إلى خبرات بعض مؤسسات المجتمع المدني في لبنان وتجاربها السابقة.
