Position: Medical Coordinator – Khaldeh
Position Location: Beirut, Lebanon
DESCRIPTION
About URDA: In June 2012, and with the flow of Syrian refugees into Lebanon, more than 100 humanitarian committees and organizations joined efforts under the umbrella of the Union of Relief and Development Associations (URDA) in order to coordinate charity work in Lebanon, especially the support of Syrian refugees fleeing the plight of war and destruction in their home country.
Reports to: Project & Medical Manager.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Leads all medical aspects of the URDA Medical Projects
- Supervises the implementation of URDA strategy.
- Coordinates and supervises the operations of URDA PHCs (Primary Healthcare Centers), partner PHCs and Hospitals.
- Represents URDA in Medical sector meetings
- Participates in the development of strategy for URDA medical activities
- Co-operates with the administration team regarding budgeting of medical activities and with the financial team regarding purchasing and dispatching of medical equipment and drugs
- Serves as the focal person for the medical referents
- Provides technical advice to the medical team concerning health activities implementation
- Assesses training needs of medical team (staff and volunteers) and develops / implements a capacity-building plan
- Identifies the needs of the programmed medical staff, drafts their job profiles and validates recruitments from a technical point of view
- Takes part in performance evaluations of the medical team
- Ensures the supervision of the pharmacy (consumptions, orders and inventory)
- Ensures coordination and liaising with other medical actors, local hospital, and Municipality.
- In charge of drafting medical references
REQUIREMENTS
- University Degree in BA or equivalent.
- 1 – 3 Years’ experience in related field.
- Ability to use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software;
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
- Ability to plan and organize.
