OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

Under the supervision of the Operations Coordinator, the technical advisor is fully responsible to enhance inclusion through raise awareness, provide advice, train partners and collect information on inclusive service provision and potential areas of support.

REPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsibility 1: Contribute to the evolution of HI Lebanon startegy and interventions.

Activities:

  • Context analysis
  • Identificatin of opportunities for interventions
  • Proposal design
  • Positionning of inclusion activities within the current Rehab, social work and psychosocial support programs
  • Planning for evolution of the activities into development more than emergency framework.

 

Responsibility 2: Guide implementation of the strategy and interventions Program activities will include but not necessarily be limited to

Activities:

  • Analysing barriers to inclusion for specific beneficiaries of HI programs
  • Analysing barriers to inclusion regarding HI partner organizations and other organizations requesting inclusion support
  • Delivering awareness raising workshops and targeted trainings on the wide range of topics covered under Inclusion.
  • Following up training attendees to measure the impact of the training on their work and to offer support as requested
  • Accompanying HI team members and organizations requesting support to take actions to remove or reduce specific barriers
  • Setting up coaching relationships and carrying out coaching between inclusion team members and organizations requesting inclusion support
  • Advocating for specific policy and institutional changes (according to analyses of specific barriers to specific instances and pattern of exclusion) to lead to inclusion of people with disabilities, injuries, and other vulnerabilities
  • Building the capacity of program staff to become inclusion experts and experienced change agents to benefit PWD and other vulnerable groups

 

Responsibility 3: Provide projets  team and partners  with information, awarness training and coaching incluiding tools

Activities:

  • Provide training, awarness and coaching on general inclusion concepts and frameworks such as Disability Rights, the Disability Creation Process, and HI’s organizational inclusion strategy.
  • Develop activities aimed at reducing or eliminating specific barriers (physical accessibility, communication, attitudinal, and legal/policy barriers)
  • Train project team and partner on existing guidelines, trainings, and toolkits for inclusion aimed at particular sectors of humanitarian/crisis response activities (WASH, Protection, Health Service Providers, PSS, refugee camp set up and management, livelihood, etc.)

 

 

Responsibility 4: Contribute towards the development of HI Lebanon staff.

Activities:

  • Contribute to improve HI training materials, especially by enriching them with practical examples, possibly relating to the project’s context and WFP livelihood program
  • Provide HI team staff with ToT on: disability models and disability creation process, twin track approach for inclusion, inclusion in humanitarian and development projects, accessibility, INCRISD framework
  • Coach HI staff to use HI tools to carry out assessment of inclusiveness and identification of main gaps
  • Train HI staff on A-IATAC methodology
  • Facilitate a workshop with HI staff on how to operationalize A-IATAC methodology in phase II with the goal to address the main gaps identified in the WFP assessment

Responsibility 5: Maintain detailed documentation of all aspects of the work processes and results for purposes of

  • reporting to donors
  • contributing to planning the evolution of the strategy and interventions
  • gathering and sharing lessons learned for this and other missions in the region 

Responsibility 6: Ensure that transversal links and positive mutually-reinforcing overlaps among program areas (Rehab, PSS, Social Work) take place to allow for the best possible impact of our interventions on beneficiaries

 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE will have:

 

  • English and Arabic are manadatory
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Special ease at collaborative work, participatory approach
  • Excellent team worker; ability to create dynamic and very positive working relations including at distance, with high level of mutual confidence and solidarity
  • Positive and constructive personality, very composed, solution-oriented and with a high level of professional maturity
  • Ability to travel in the country and in the region

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Occupational Therapist, Degree in global health, community development, physiotheray or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Humanitarian Action with focus on disability and vulnerability, disability rights, disability advocacy or disability inclusion
  • Strong writing skills
  • Experience in training based on adult learning principles, interpersonal and intercultural skills — all required

 

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS:

 

HI workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in HI Code of conduct.  In accordance with these values, HI operates and enforces policies on Beneficiary Protection from Exploitation and Abuse, Child Safeguarding, Anti-fraud, bribery, and corruption.

                                                

Initial contract will be for a period of 2 years and the position is based in Beirut with frequent travel inside Lebanon

Basic salary range for the position : From 2000 USD to 2400 USD based on experience
