In early 2022, JLI launched our first three regional learning hubs, in the Middle East, Syria, and East Africa. Each regional hub has embarked on an individual journey of mapping, networking, engagement, and learning with local actors from the region.
This series will explore those journeys, and will showcase the challenges, opportunities, successes, and learning that happens when we shift the power.

تأتي هذه الجلسة ضمن سلسلة الندوات التي أطلقها مركز العلوم الاجتماعية للأبحاث التطبيقية تحت عنوان "سياسة العدالة الاجتماعية في لبنان: بين المواطنة والهويات والأزمات المتفاقمة" بهدف تحليل نظام الحماية الاجتماعية الحالي وقيوده. تسعى الجلسة إلى إثراء النقاشات حول السياسات العامّة، وتحويل سرديات وبرامج العدالة الاجتماعية والحماية، من النهج القائم على المساعدات ذات الطابع الخيري إلى النهج المتمحور حول المواطنين/ات.

In this 3-hour online-session we will focus on our own feelings and needs. We will try to understand what keeps us from addressing the person and why we might not be able to just close this chapter. We can learn how to deal with our emotions involved and get clarity about our needs and next steps. This session can give us insights that make it much easier to approach the other person. Or it might even happen that after this session you don’t feel the need to address the issue with the other person anymore because you have ‘sorted this out’ in yourself.

About this Call for Interest:
The Socio-Economic Justice Initiative-MAAN invites dynamic university students who are interested and active in civil, humanitarian, and political activism to be part of MAAN’s Seminars in Beirut. 
As part of The Socio-Economic Justice Initiative-MAAN strategy to build the accountability and citizen engagement culture, MAAN is implementing a series of seminars targeting active youngsters. The main objective of this project is to build a generation of young citizens, active, knowledgeable, and skilled to hold the government accountable and create wider participatory avenues for change in Lebanon through the provision of knowledge, resources, opportunity, and space for youth. Moreover, it aims to activate common citizenship to inspire social accountability, ownership, and strategy in the reform of policies and to guide and support young activists in their grassroots community to become more resilient and sustainable in their accountability pursuit.

تدعو مبادرة العدالة الاجتماعية والاقتصادية- معاً طلاب/طالبات الجامعات النشط في العمل المدني، الإنساني، أو السياسي ليكون جزءاً من سلسلة ندوات ستقام في بيروت.
كجزء من استراتيجية مبادرة العدالة الاجتماعية والاقتصادية-معاً لبناء ثقافة المساءلة وإشراك المواطنين، قامت جمعية معاً بتطوير سلسلة من الندوات التفاعلية مستهدفة طلاب/طالبات الجامعات الناشط. الهدف الرئيسي من هذا المشروع هو بناء جيل من المواطنين الشباب الناشطين وخلق سبل تشاركية أوسع للتغيير في لبنان من خلال توفير المعرفة والموارد والفرص لهم. تهدف الأكاديمية إلى تعزيز ودعم وقيادة الشباب الناشطين وتحسين وصولهم إلى الشبكات المحلية والوطنية، وذلك من خلال سلسلة من الجلسات وورش العمل. كما تهدف الأكاديمية إلى تفعيل المواطنة المشتركة لإلهام المساءلة، وإصلاح السياسات وتوجيه ودعم الشباب في لبنان ليصبحوا أكثر استدامة في سعيهم للمساءلة.

Access Center for Human Rights (ACHR) is publishing a report titled "Refugees Without Protection," This annual report sheds light on the various human rights violations against Syrian refugees observed and/or documented by Access Center for Human Rights during the year 2020 and presenting an overview of Lebanon's obligations under national law and international treaties.

As part of The Socio-Economic Justice Initiative-MAAN strategy to build the accountability and citizen engagement culture, MAAN will develop and implement an “Activist Academy”. MAAN will outreach and select 25 youth between the ages of 18-25 to commit and participate in the citizenship building sessions. The project aims to catalyze not only the interest amongst youth to engage, but also to capacitate their activism spirit to become more efficient, sustainable and resilient. The Academy agenda will consist of weekly workshops and seminars divided between knowledge and skills sessions targeting youth.

We are looking for youngsters (18-25) Lebanese, independent and active in the revolution. If you are interested to be part of the academy, please fill in this application form and submit it before March, 10.

كيف يمكننا تغيير الأسلوب القديم في جلسات التدريب والانتقال إلى فعاليات أكثر استدامة؟ ما هو النموذج الذي يجب اعتماده؟ ما هي العقبات والعوامل المساعدة لنجاح المؤسسات؟ ستجيب عبير غطاس، وهي ناشطة لبنانية، ومتخصّصة في مجال الاتصالات الرقمية وتقنية المعلومات، عن هذه السئلة وتناقش مفهوم أمن المؤسسات، وكيفية التدّرب عليه، وكيف يمكن استخدامه داخل مؤسساتنا.

The Gender in Development and Humanitarian Assistance (GDHA) Certificate is a continuing education program designed for students, practitioners, and policymakers. The program addresses gender issues in development and humanitarian settings. GDHA innovatively incorporates academic knowledge with high-level expertise to create a new standard in gender education for development and humanitarian professionals. The standards are in-line with internationally-recognized practices. Moreover, the program builds local capacity to address local issues, building a cadre of motivated professionals in the Arab region.
