Emergency Response For Displaced Syrians In Lebanon: Shelter Project

This project aims to improve the well-being of the Syrian refugees in the identified apartment building in Saida city and the Aqbieh collective shelter in southern Lebanon through rehabilitation and sustainable WASH interventions. The project will be implemented in the south of Lebanon in a collective shelter in Aqbieh and an apartment building in Saida city.
Target groups:
1) Displaced Syrian refugees to Lebanon
2) Palestinian from Syria
3)Local community members in the South
Final beneficiaries
The direct beneficiaries of this action are approximately 109 HHs (654 individuals, of which over 70% are children and women) affected by the Syrian crisis, who through the provision of an emergency shelter rehabilitation will directly benefit from WASH interventions. These are the most vulnerable Syrian refugees, both registered and non-registered, residing in a structure composed of a basement, retail shops, offices, remaining spaces, and/or others private houses in the South of Lebanon. Indirect beneficiaries include Palestinians from Syria, Lebanese returnees and local community members in the South of Lebanon, approximately 362 (potentially 40% of beneficiaries targeted).

To support Syrian refugees and host families through emergency basic infrastructure and shelter rehabilitation activities in the collective centre of Aqbieh 2. To support Syrian refugees through emergency basic infrastructure and shelter rehabilitation activities in apartments in Saida City

The activities at both identified sights will be implemented in 3 phases: The Aqbieh CC • REHAB OF COLLECTIVE CENTER • REHAB OF WASH FACILITIES Phase 1: • Providing - 64 kitchens - 64 latrines - 64 showers • Installation - Sewage and drainage network - Drain pipes and casting concrete Phase 2: • Finishing - Plastering, painting and tiles • Installation - Partition boards Phase 3: • Installation of 64 doors • Installation of 60 windows • Installation of electrical system The apartment building in Saida city • REHAB OF COLLECTIVE CENTER • REHAB OF WASH FACILITIES Phase 1: • Rehabilitating - Sewage and drainage network • Installation - 8 units - 3 kitchens - 14 latrines - 12 showers • Splitting and refurbishing 18 rooms (2 on Ground floor; 8 on 1st floor; 8 on 2nd floor) Phase 2: • Restoration - Proofing roof and stair cases - Balconies - Finishing (plastering, painting, tiles, etc.) Phase 3: • Installation of 32 doors and restoration of 11 doors • Installation of 28 windows • Installation of electrical system
