Invitation for the closing event of the project "Better Together: A Youth-Led Approach to Peaceful Coexistence"
The European Union and Search for Common Ground-Lebanon are delighted to invite you to attend the closing event of the project ‘Better Together: A Youth-Led Approach to Peaceful Coexistence’.
The event will include the screening of a documentary which captures the journey of those involved in the project over the past year and will be followed by a panel discussion on the successes and challenges arising from the implementation of such projects in the Lebanese context. The discussion will aim to recognize and legitimize the importance of youth’s efforts in building peace and provide recommendations on how to strengthen and inform future youth projects in Lebanon.   The timing of the event is opportune with the passing of the UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security which recognizes and addresses the role of youth in (post-) conflict scenarios. The discussion will be framed around the resolution and how similar projects can be a means to empower youth to become peace builders in countries like Lebanon.   Representatives from SFCG, the Delegation of the European Union, implementing partners, artists, and relevant ministries are to attend and actively participate in a public debate to discuss these subjects.  The invitation is open and guests are welcome to attend.   Please RSVP by April 8th 2016 to Mr. Josep Garcia by calling 76-888-619 or 01-428-911 or via email: [email protected]
