Call for articles: Social and transformative justice in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq
Based on the assumption that most conflicts are rooted in socio-economic causes that usually continue in the period during and after the conflict, we are launching a call on of social and transformative justice in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq.
Articles can deal with the following main topics: a) social movements and social justice, b) transformative justice and social justice, c) economy of (pre-)war and d) civil conflict resolution. They can focus on one of the three countries or have a comparative approach,
Objective of the article should be one of the following:
- To look at enduring and selected struggles for social justice in settings of former and current contexts of conflict and violence.
- To connect the concept of transformative justice with social justice
- To re-consider relations between social (in-)justice/socio-economic crises and conflict
- To look at relations of economy and war/conflict
- To discuss different concepts of civil conflict resolution
Articles can be written in English, Arabic or German. They will be published in English and German on the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Berlin website within a thematic focus on conflict and conflict resolution and on the website of the RLS Beirut Office. Articles should have a journalistic style have a length of 1000 – 2000 words.
An honorarium of 300 USD will be paid for each article.
