- Young women and men should learn why media is important for a peaceful development of society?

- These goals can be reached through Media and Information literacy?

- Media can incite violence as well as it can promote peace – depending how media is being used

- Media can be used as powerful tools to promote noble causes?

Do you work

- With marginalized youth in regions with little access to after-school activities?

- With youth who are negatively affected by conflicts and tension?

- In fields related to peace building, tolerance, and de-radicalization?

-

Then apply for a grant in the framework of our current project

“Beyond Radicalization – Youth in Lebanon speak up!”.

Background: This three years long project is funded by the EU under the European Instrument of Democracy and Human Rights and led by Deutsche Welle Akademie (DW Akademie). DW Akademie, Germany´s leading institution for international media development and PPM, an experienced Lebanese organization to promote peace closely cooperate in this project. Within this project local NGOs and community based organizations will be enabled to conduct trainings for young people in the field of Media and Information Literacy (MIL).

Through your MIL programs youth will understand the role of media and media’s influence on people and society. Young people will gain the ability to decode media messages and understand the constructed nature of media content. They will create their own media, whether it is a wallpaper, a blog, video clips, or the like, to peacefully promote their causes. Throughout this project, qualified MIL trainers and project managers of PPM and DW Akademie will support you. Last, but not least, we will assist you in building media platforms designed for your specific needs to conduct those MIL programs.

Together with our expert, you will do a technical need assessment for your planned project. Your organization/community group will also receive training in how to do financial and narrative reporting for project. You can apply for a grant up to 9,500 Euros. You do NOT need to be a registered NGO.
