How do you think activists will safely process and manage video footage from conflicts around the world?
You have great experiences to share from an amazing visual advocacy campaign you worked on.
As an investigative journalist you're trying to figure out how to collate and present all the data you have into an exposé.
Your mapping project is stuck and needs to move to the next level.
You are interested in the way art can reveal hidden evidence, raise questions and create debate.

At Tactical Tech, we have been documenting and learning about how the exciting field of information activism is evolving and how it can be used to achieve social justice. The Evidence & Influence Camp will bring together people working with data, technology, visual design and advocacy to shape the practice of evidence-based advocacy. The camp is both a peer-learning event and a space that will foster collaboration. We will explore new ideas that will contribute to enhancing creative & technical practices and deepening critical debates in this field.

We are now open for applications.
1. What you're signing up for:Six days of discussion, hands-on learning, skillshares and collaborations. There will be very little lecturing or presentations. Participants are expected to bring their experiences, knowledge and skills to share with others at camp. We will be in session for 7-8 hours a day with free time in the afternoon and optional organised activities in the evenings. You will need to be free for the entire period 23 – 30 June in order to attend. It is not possible to come for a portion of it. Please note that this event will be in English. 
2. Your information and privacy:We will use information only for the process of selecting participants for the camp and for our evaluation requirements. We will not give it to any external service or organisation. It will be handled and stored securely. All data collected through this webform is safely transmitted and stored using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and AES-256 bit encryption. If you would prefer to submit the application form through GPG encrypted email then download the form and public key and send it to campapplications[at]tacticaltech[dot]org.
3. Selection:We have a limited number of places open for applications and already a lot of interest. The selection of applicants for the camp will be vetted and reviewed by an external review group. The profile of the advisory board will be shared on the camp website.
4. Who should apply:You should consider applying to the camp if you are:

An activist, investigative journalist, lawyer, campaigner, organiser, digital media activist, data journalist or rights advocate working with data or information for social change. This means that you are either ready to work on – or are already working on – an information-based or visual advocacy project.
Working with data as a data specialist, data wrangler or statistician working with advocacy groups / activists, or would like to share your skills with such groups.
A developer or technologist working with advocacy groups / activists
An information designer, graphic designer, animation filmmaker, video filmmaker or other digital media practitioner interested in or already working on social justice and rights issues and groups
An artist working with information and on political themes

5. Cost:The cost of the camp include: accommodation and food (between 300 and 500 euros for 7 nights depending on what type of accommodation you are in), visa, flight and whatever you spend on site (refreshments etc). There is no tuition fee. In the past many participants have been funded by their own organisations or sought funding from other sources to cover their costs.
Tactical Tech has a limited number of full and partial grants to award to participants who want assistance covering travel, accommodation or visas. 
Please indicate on the application form if you would like to apply for a grant. 
6. Application Deadline:  THE FIRST ROUND OF APPLICATIONS, FOR THOSE WHO NEED A VISA TO ENTER ITALY, HAS ALREADY CLOSED.
People who are nationals of countries that don't need visas to enter Italy have until April 15th, 2013 to apply.
