Live From Nahr El-Bared
A Photography, audiovisual exhibit of life in Nahr el Bared plus talks with camp inhabitants, activists, and documentary film makers, at Nasawiya Cafe this Wednesday. Come and a get taste for the plight, and for creativity and resilience, inside the besieged community of Nahr el Bared, where the cameras dare not go.
All are invited to attend, observe, participate. This event is meant to challenge the media distortions and long stretches of blackout that Nahr el Bared has endured. To make aware all those invested in civil and human rights in Lebanon about the severe abuses in Nahr el Bared, while providing them with an intimate portrait of what makes the community beautiful. And hopefully to inspire those concerned to act!
All questions, concerns, myth-reproductions are welcome here so that they can be addressed. If you have one of the above but you would like to submit it anonymously, please send me or any of the page administrators a private message. We will try our best to have it answered at the events.
The evening includes a visual exhibition open from 5pm - 10pm, a panel of conversation with the Palestinian activists starting 7:30pm, and screening of a film "Nahr al Bared: Mokhayyam I3tiqal" with director Sandra Madi at 8:30pm.
