Function & Purpose
The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the management and development of IFE-EFI’s programs and strategies in the region and for ensuring that partners’ projects and activities effectively meet IFE-EFI’s short-term and long-term objectivesand goals. The Program Coordinator will be in charge of the coordination of partner relationships, local representation and program development, monitoring and evaluation. The Program Coordinator will also provide local partners with technical, follow up and organizational development support. She/he should contribute to elaborating IFE-EFI’s strategic framework in the region and identifying opportunities that would contribute into the achievement of IFE-EFI’s goals and vision. The Program Coordinator also assists the  Executive  Director  in  the  development  of  responsive  strategies  and  the  design  and implementation of new and ongoing projects.
 
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The main responsibilities and tasks of the Program Coordinator are:
Strategic & Program Development
•  Assist the Regional Office in developing IFE-EFI’s regional strategy and identifying new focus areas, both geographically and thematically, for program development and the integration of cross-cutting themes.
•  Monitor gender related projects on women’s rights and participation including issues such as constitution building, democracy, peace and security and seek to identify opportunities for IFE-EFI’s to provide input into relevant interventions and policies.
•  Contribute to the analysis and promotion of a women, peace and security focus in compliance with UNSCR 1325.

•  Explore the development of new additional projects including feasibility, project design and the development of new ideas, concepts, policies and practices.
•  Follow up on IFE-EFI and partner’s projects, quality supervision, monitoring, evaluation and the professional implementation in term of activities and budget management according to approved plans and agreements with partners.
•  Ensure the effectiveness and success of projects, the timely implementation of all activities and the meeting of deadlines.
 
Partner Support & Networking
•  Identify the capacity gaps and requirements of IFE-EFI’s partners in relation to promoting and achieving women’s rights, democracy, participation and citizenship. And accordingly assist in the design and delivery of partner training and support activities.
•  Support partners on general project management issues, communication, preparation of concept notes, project proposals, budgets and reports.
•  Mentor and coach partner organizations in the implementation of their activities.
•  Follow up on partners’ activities and projects, narrative and financial reporting and provide relevant and adequate technical support.
•  Ensure coordination between partners and enhance experience sharing and documentation processes.
•  Organize  regular  meetings  with  partners  to  discuss  project  impediments,  risks  and assumptions, needed resources or issues/delays in completing planned tasks.
•  Serve as a focal point to communicate and resolve collaboration and integration issues with all partners.
•  On the request of the Regional Office, organize workshops, seminars and meetings with partners and stakeholders.
•  Conduct field visits as needed and when required.
 
Communication & Representation
•  Develop  and  maintain  strong  partnership  relations  and  ensure  smooth  and  fruitful communication with all partners and stakeholders.
•  Promote IFE-EFI’s image and vision to local and international NGOs, UN and development agencies, partners, government, specialized networks and relevant actors.
•  On the request of the Regional Office, represent IFE-EFI at seminars, conferences, meetings and other events, and act as a spokesperson appropriately.
•  Provide regular updates and monthly reports to the Regional Office on all issues pertaining to program implementation, meetings, achievements, challenges and other relevant issues.
•  On the request of the Regional Office, ensure external reporting in compliance with donors and partners’ requests.
 
 
 
 
Education Requirements
•  University Degree (preferably Master’s degree) in gender or development studies, international relations, peace and conflict, or a relevant social science discipline.
•  Relevant courses or workshops related to gender studies, conflict management, advocacy, fundraising, peace and security, project cycle management, etc.
 
 
Skills Requirements
•  A minimum of five years’ practical experience in gender, advocacy, peace building and/or project design and implementation (M&E).
•  An established record or proven ability to conduct strategic planning, program development and monitoring and evaluation on her/his own.
•  Knowledge in administrative and accounting procedures and financial reporting.
•  Experience in policy development and advocacy campaigns and knowledge in civil society and networking.
•  Knowledge and understanding of the situation and challenges in the region mainly in Lebanon and Syria.
•  Experience in organizing capacity building workshops, conferences, meetings and events. •  Experience in local or international organizational representation.
• bility to work effectively with partners’ staff and other team members.
•  Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic. French or other languages are an asset.
•  Fluency in the use of the Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint); knowledge of online and social media tools is a plus.

•  Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision and values of the Euromed Feminist Initiative and to gender equality and empowerment issues.
•  Inter-personal communication skills and the ability to work with multi-cultural teams and diverse groups.
•  Strong research, analysis and writing skills.
•  Ability to work both individually and as a part of a team.
•  Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments effectively with attention to detail.
