The Role:

Nahr El-Bared Vocational Program for Women

Monitor the project activities on a regular basis as well as provide daily project execution oversight and support.

Provide a daily report on the execution and any issues faced based on pre-set monitoring tools that ensure detailed relevant monitoring.

Report directly to the Program and Communications Manager.

Support in the initial set-up, data collection, registration process as well as provide guidance to project staff on required outcomes.

Provide daily tasks to the project staff to ensure timely implementation, follow-up, monitoring and reporting application of the M-USA financial policy as well per project contract.

Support in the approval of any teaching materials, advertising materials, guidance materials.

Represent Mercy-USA at relevant field meetings including UNRWA meetings, INGO meetings specific to coordination in Nahr El-Bared (camp based, if any) and in any coordination activities within the camp. Additionally, attend the T5/Akkar Social Stability and Livelihoods Meetings, Food Security Meetings as well as any other relevant meetings as needed.

Ensure Mercy-USA core values as well as humanitarian code are reflected in everyday activities.

Support Program and Communication Manager in all relevant field visits and oversight activities.

Food Security and Livelihoods Officer

Lead the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of new, current and seasonal Mercy-USA food security and livelihood interventions.

Develop monthly, quarterly and yearly detailed program activity implementation plans on food security and livelihood interventions implemented by Mercy-USA.

Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of the food security and livelihood interventions of the projects in place.

Follow-up and ensure timely implementation of all the planned action - food security and livelihood interventions in accordance with the annual work plan.

Foster positive relationship partners at Beirut and North Lebanon levels by attending Food Security and Livelihoods meetings at both levels and engaging in coordination activities with other INGOs.

Participate in meetings to share progress on food security and livelihood interventions with stakeholders including donors and government officials as needed.

Produce periodic project progress reports as requested by the Program and Communication Manager.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to the food security and livelihood staff in the implementation of the food security and livelihood interventions. This includes developing clear guidelines, monitoring tools, and activity plans.

Support training for staff, stakeholders and implementing partner staff in relevant aspects of food security and livelihood.

Job Description

Facilitate community mobilization, participatory assessment, opportunities and demand in local area to make sure that the project is owned by the community.

Ensure procedures are properly followed in selection of beneficiaries and that right beneficiaries are targeted for the programs.

Ensure that governance structures, local leadership and community are involved in the program design and implementation and understand the program objectives.

Support all field based procurements for the program in a timely manner.

Support in the preparation, design and implementation of all data collection activities including assessments, pre- and post-implementation monitoring and other similar activities to use as lessons learned and to support in the design of new programs.

Design and train current staff in areas relevant to the Food Security and Livelihoods program topics.

Research and develop new projects and programs with Mercy-USA vision and mission in mind.

Review the Food Security and Livelihoods Program Guide and redesign for the Lebanon operation.

Ensure all program activities meet the needs of the communities targeted as well as promoting empowerment of women, children and elderly in addition to the reduction of tensions between effected population cohorts and improving the income generating capacity through sustainable, effective programs in both Food Security and Livelihoods.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

Degree in one of the following: Business, Economics, Social Sciences, Food and Nutrition/Food Security, Agriculture Engineering or similar.

At least 3 years’ experience in Food Security and Livelihoods interventions in Lebanon

Excellent command of the English language

At least 1-year experience with project management and reporting.

Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
