Gender Afterworks: Women’S Rights Movements In Lebanon - قهوة الجندر: حركات حقوق المرأة في لبنان

Lebanon Support has launched a new event series in September 2016, titled Gender Afterworks.
Gender Afterworks are an open informal café for discussion, aiming at creating informal spaces for discussion between scholars, experts, practitioners, activists and the general public on themes pertaining to gender in Lebanon. These events will be hosted regularly by Lebanon Support with partner organisations.
The second Gender Afterworks will take place on the 24th of November 2016, from 5:30pm to 7pm, at Dawawine, Gemmayze (al-Arz street, Akkar building/BLOM Bank building, 2nd floor, near Bank Audi.) It is organised in partnership with the Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering (RDFL) in the frame of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence, and will discuss women’s rights movements in Lebanon. The discussion will be led by Marie-Rose Zalzal (lawyer and researcher) and Caroline Succar (researcher in gender, RDFL.)

أطلق مركز دعم لبنان سلسلة جديدة من النقاشات في أيلول/سبتمبر ٢٠١٦، بعنوان "قهوة الجندر". وهذه الجلسات بالتحديد عبارة عن مُلتقيات في مقهى غير رسمية مفتوحة ومخصَّصة للنقاش، وذلك بهدف إنشاء فضاء غير رسمي للنقاش بين الباحثين، والخبراء، والعاملين والناشطين، وعامَّة الجمهور، حول مواضيع ذات صلة بالجندر في لبنان. وسيعمل مركز دعم لبنان مع المنظمات الشريكة على استضافة هذه الأحداث بانتظام.
ستجري الجلسة النقاشية الثانية لقهوة الجندر في ٢٤ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ٢٠١٦، بين الساعة الخامسة والنصف والسابعة مساءً، في مقهى دواوين في الجميزة (شارع الأرز، بناية عكار/بنك لبنان والمهجر، الطابق الثاني، قرب بنك عودي). هذه الجلسة تُنظَّم بالشراكة مع التجمع النسائي الديمقراطي اللبناني (RDFL) في نطاق حملة الـ١٦ يوم لمناهضة العنف ضد المرأة، وتتناول الحركات من أجل حقوق المرأة في لبنان. سيُدير النقاش كل من ماري روز زلزل (محامية وباحثة) وكارولين سكّر (باحثة جندرية، التجمع النسائي الديمقراطي اللبناني).
