Call For Participants - Global Debates - Glocal Solutions: Creating A Greener Future Together

As a continuation of our program “Think Globally, Act Glocally: Climate Youth Ambassadors for a Greener Future”, Green Line Association, as a partner organization with Crossing Borders (Denmark), Leaders of Tomorrow (Jordan) and CESIE (Italy), is calling for applicants to participate in an international training in Denmark entitled: “Global Debates - Glocal Solutions: Creating a Greener Future Together”.
In phase one, (4) youth workers were trained and empowered to formulate and communicate their concerns about climate change with decision-makers, and advocate for their right to environment on an international, national and local level.
In 22 October 2016, these youth workers will travel again with (6) other participants from Lebanon to Denmark for ten days to participate in the international training.
This training will serve as a platform to promote intercultural exchange and dialogue among youth from Denmark, Italy, Lebanon and Jordan. A youth manifesto raising concerns and wishes of the participating youth regarding climate change will be a main output of the training.
Furthermore, courses on formal and non-formal techniques to strengthen participants’ advocacy and debating skills to advocate their right to a healthy, safe and sustainable environment will be given.
The general learning method is based on the Danish folk Højskole participatory learning and teaching methods considering the needs and levels of the participants. Adding to that, thematic workshops, forum theatre, field trips, roundtable discussions and group work will provide space for open dialogue and feedback.
Meetings and discussions with six (6) policy-makers and experts will take place in a non-formal format to assure the flow of openness and respectful exchange.

Why to participate?
1) The participants will gain practical experience in multiple ways of learning.
2) The Youth Manifesto will document the increased awareness about the issue of climate change and related demands towards decision-makers.
3) Intercultural dialogue and the promotion of mutual understanding and empathy will be a crucial part of the entire project.
4) The developed project campaigning skills will provide participants with the opportunity to take initiative and promote active citizenship among other young people in their areas.
