Liberal Alphabet B: Breathing, Drinking Eating - Air, Water, Food: What Is Public Good?
The Friedrich Naumann Stiftung (FNF) – Beirut Office cordially invites you to the second event of our Liberal Alphabet series entitled "Breathing, Drinking, Eating: Air, Water, Food - What is a Public Good?"
Water is a social good. Water supply requires state control and regulation. However, water is also essential for economic development. It is essential for life and health and also of cultural and religious importance. Is it therefore often subsidized or even made available for free? Is it a public good - something like air or sunlight? Where does privatization begin, where does it end? What are the advantages or disadvantages in that respect?
The panel discussion will address these questions with the audience and will be followed by a screening of the documentary "Not Business as Usual."
