DCA HMA Lebanon – Fleet Officer / Mechanic
 
DanChurchAid (DCA) Humanitarian Mine Action in Lebanon is currently seeking a Fleet Officer / Mechanic for its activities in Lebanon. DCA is working in Lebanon since 2007, implementing land mine and cluster munition clearance in cooperation with the Lebanese Mine Action Centre. DCA has its main office in Bsous near Beirut and a field office in Tibnine. The Fleet Officer / Mechanic will be based in Bsous but frequent travel to the field office may be expected.
 
Your general responsibilities:
 

Responsible      for servicing and maintaining the DCA vehicle fleet and generators, and      for approving all external repairs and ensure that they are carried out in      a timely manner and subject to quotation and in line with budgeted      expenses for vehicle maintenance.
Manage      stock spare parts for DCA vehicle fleet and generators and ensure that      minimum stock levels are observed and replacement stock is ordered in a      timely manner and at best value for money within budgeted expenses
Responsible      for establishing service contracts with service providers (workshop,      generator service, fuel stations) to ensure good quality service and best      prices.
Ensure      that all vehicles are insured and that MOT fees are paid in timely manner.
Maintain      records of mileage and fuel usage of vehicles and generators and complete      monthly monitoring report.
Carry      out investigations concerning vehicle accidents and ensure that proper      action is taken and all reports are filed in the vehicle record books.
Line      Manager for drivers. Responsible for conducting driver tests and ensure      that drivers are strictly adhering to DCA regulations on driving and usage      of DCA vehicles.
Coordinate      the use of DCA vehicles in accordance with operational and administration      transport needs.
Complete      monthly reports for DCA vehicle and generator fuel consumption, service      and maintenance and upload to the Vehicle Management System.

 
You will receive extensive training in the Vehicle Monitoring System (ADMIND) which is an on-line programme developed particularly for DCA and its various country offices worldwide.
 
You have the following qualifications:
 

Fluent in English and Arabic.
Car Mechanic BT
Excellent computer skills (Office Word and Excel)
At least 3-5 years working experience in similar position.
Excellent inter personnel skills and a good sense of humour and team spirit.
Willingness and ability to be flexible – also outside working hours.

 
DCA offers:
 

1 year contract subject to renewal based on performance and funding available, starting as soon as possible or no later than 1st September 2015 with 3 months’ probation.
