Project Overview:
Brief presentation of the project:

The general objective of the Social Justice Incubation Program under SEE Change is to contribute to the local economy and social stability of Lebanon by promoting diversification of incentives for Social Economy and Social Justice advancement, co-identifying with local communities and key stakeholders both the most suitable actors (individuals and organizations) and the optimal environmental factors for a successful and impactful incubation of social economy initiatives in Lebanon.

In the framework of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Community driven Social Enterprise Programme in Lebanon, COSV intervention aims to create decent employment opportunities to Syrian refugee and Lebanese host communities& respond to urgent socioeconomic needs by promoting new and exciting social & solidarity economy (SSE).Thus, COSV will conduct several communities based interactive participatory workshops to support the programme. The project aims to increasing the impact of social entrepreneurial actives in Lebanon, creating employment and social stability opportunities, and supporting the local economy. Under SEE CHANGE COSV is launching this incubation program to boost the practice of collaborative economy and amplify the potential of new models of Social Entrepreneurship in Lebanon.

The research team is primarily tasked to ensure high quality, agile and reliable research material to the use of the action’s stakeholders through various tools, including analysis on conflict and community dynamics and successful governance models.

COSV under the project SEE CHANGE (Social Enterprise Ecosystem Change) co-funded by the EU Madad Trust Fund and in partnership with OXFAM and Beyond Group is leading an action-research to map out social enterprises in Lebanon and understand their capacity in contributing to social justice. A feasibility study is in place to understand how to better design a Social Justice incubation program that will then pilot and fund 20 new models of social enterprises aiming to contribute to the advancement of social justice in Lebanon, strongly based on collaborative economy drivers.

Job description

• Build external and internal relationships through exceptional problem solving, ownership and follow through
• Acts as liaison between sectors (Implementation, KL, M&E) and partners and works closely with them to ensure a smooth implementation and activation experience.
• Coordinate, track, monitor and regularly report on project implementation.

Description of the task
The Researcher will be part of a Beirut-based small research team. This team operates in the framework of an EU-funded 18 months’ project aimed at contributing to strengthen community cohesion in various Middle Eastern contexts. The research team is primarily tasked to ensure high quality, agile and reliable research material to the use of the action’s stakeholders through various tools, including analysis on conflict and community dynamics.
