You want to speak out against human rights violations?

Informed Journalism plays a fundamental role in promoting and protecting Human Rights (HR). However, media coverage of HR-related issues remains weak, despite the current relative freedom of press in Lebanon.
During the training, participants will develop their knowledge of HR standards and acquire new skills and techniques in the field of HR reporting. Participants are invited to bring any article they released on a HR-related topic.
 
Program
9:30   - 10:00:            Introduction of the training and the participants
10:00 - 10:45:             HR standards, UN conventions, and Lebanon's commitments in the area of HR
10:45 - 11:00:             Coffee break
11:00 - 12:00:             Basic concepts of newsgathering and the application of these  concepts to HR reporting
12:00 - 13:30:             Discussion of HR topics and their media coverage (in groups)
13:30 - 14:00:             The way forward: Discussion of the project’s continuity
