Lebanon Employment Assistance To People With Disabilities

CRS is partnering with Arc en Ciel in a project to identify, link, and support PWD needing employment with potential employers. Innovative aspects of this programming will enhance sustainability: an advisory committee of Lebanese businesses to assist private sector outreach, an Adaptation Center to ensure companies are physically accessible; and tailored, ongoing support for employed PWD including peer counseling; intensive institutional capacity building, particularly on human resources management, to enable AEC to expand programming on their own in the future on a fee-for-service basis. The objective is that opportunities for economic inclusion are strengthened by: *PWD have capacity to hold jobs in the private sector *Increased employment opportunities exist for workers with disabilities *Companies are able to accommodate PWD in their environment *AEC’s overall managerial and financial capacities are enhanced to sustain activities in future.
