JOB PURPOSE:Employee to be responsible for overall technical support, set up and maintenance of all media & other technical equipment, and other technical duties essential to the smooth running of the entire AltCity space.
WORK HOURS:Schedule will be adjusted / coordinated based on tasks needed. Estimated full-time work for approximately two months, and then adjusting as needed. Must be available evenings for technical support during events.
MAIN TASKS:- set up, monitor, and provide service for the internet network for AltCity- set up and provide basic problem-solving support for computers for the AltCity team- provide basic IT support for co-workers on an on-going basis- set up and oversee setting up television system, satellite and cable TV systems, and audio distribution system- responsible for conducting or arranging maintenance of media equipment & sound systems at AltCity, and providing technical/sound support during events- other fun/exciting projects that emerge!
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:- 1-2 years’ experience working on tech, network, computer- university degree in computer engineering desirable- ability to communicate in Arabic and English effectively (written & spoken)- ability to multitask- detail-oriented- ability to meet deadlines- enthusiastic, dynamic, and reliable- enthusiasm and knowledge in open source tech (online, offline, hardware)- having a car and driver’s license is a strong bonus- a hacker, maker, DIY spirit with a passion for excellence
PERIOD:10 month contract, to start ASAP. To be continued dependent on funding and quality of work.
