AgriCAL Project - Jobs

The Ministry of Agriculture (the Client) has received financing from International Fund for Agricultural Fund (IFAD) toward the cost of the Climate Smart Agriculture: Enhancing Adaptive Capacity of the Rural Communities in Lebanon (AgriCAL) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
The consulting services (“the Services”) include prepare the Environmental Impact Assessment, the tender documents and supervision for small scale structures to reduce flood risk in Ras Baalback and Hermel

The objectives of this assignment are:
- Organize a national forum on increasing adaptation of the agricultural sector to climate change
- Moderate and facilitate the national forum
- Generate a report with all the outcomes, outputs, and objectives

The main tasks under this consultancy include:
• Desktop review of existing literature, articles, and reports related to crop rotation, its challenges, principles, impact of climate change and role in adaptation to climate change, etc.
• Interviews with experts in the field (LARI, ICARDA, Academic institutions, Ministry of Agriculture, etc.) and farmers in major production areas (Akkar, Beqaa) to depict the current practices, success stories, advantages and challenges of the crop rotation of different agriculture systems
• Guidelines preparation

The objectives of this assignment are:
- The designing of the studies and guidelines (minimum 2 guidelines from LARI, subject to be determined by LARI focal point) and their content for eventual publication,
- The development of 14 infographics on the main results and
- A short animation video on climate change adaptation and agriculture.

The Republic of Lebanon represented by the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has received a Grant from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) toward the cost of the Climate Smart Agriculture: Enhancing Adaptive Capacity of the Rural Communities in Lebanon (AgriCAL) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Grant for the recruitment of Consulting Services provided by an Individual Consultant: as part of the Post of Administrative Assistant (Full Time).

LARI is seeking for a consultant to conduct a training on “Statistics, analyzing climatic data and research experimental design”. The training would build the knowledge of LARI staff on the importance to setup statistically relevant experimental trails and analyze climatic data for answering about climate change future scenarios in Lebanon. The training will be conducted in Lebanon (Rayak – Tal Amara) for at least ten (10) trainees from LARI, for a period of eight 8 half days (4 hours/day) (that is a total of 4 full days).

The main tasks under this consultancy include:
• Desktop review of existing literature, articles, and reports related to crop rotation, its challenges, principles, impact of climate change and role in adaptation to climate change, etc.
• Interviews with experts in the field (LARI, ICARDA, Academic institutions, Ministry of Agriculture, etc.) and farmers in major production areas (Akkar, Beqaa) to depict the current practices, success stories, advantages and challenges of the crop rotation of different agriculture systems (see below)

The Republic of Lebanon represented by the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has received a Grant from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) toward the cost of the Climate Smart Agriculture: Enhancing Adaptive Capacity of the Rural Communities in Lebanon (AgriCAL) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Grant for the recruitment of Consulting Services provided by an Individual Consultant: as part of the Post of Expert in financial management and accounting for donor-funded projects – Part time.

The Republic of Lebanon represented by the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has received a Grant from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) toward the cost of the Climate Smart Agriculture: Enhancing Adaptive Capacity of the Rural Communities in Lebanon (AgriCAL) – Grant N: C-AF-1-LB and it intends to apply part of the proceeds for the recruitment of Consultancy Services provided by an individual Consultant as Videographer.

The Republic of Lebanon represented by the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has received a Grant from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) toward the cost of the Climate Smart Agriculture: Enhancing Adaptive Capacity of the Rural Communities in Lebanon (AgriCAL) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Grant for the recruitment of Consulting Services provided by an Individual Consultant: as part of the Post of Trainer about Statistic and Research Design for the Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (LARI).
